  1. Leon FR PD170 TDi Injector problem

Well finally after 2 months I have the refund deposited in my bank. It's been a bit of a drag and a pain to get it all sorted, SEAT probably snowed under with claims, but as mentioned by others Simon Ackroyd at SEAT customer care oversaw the whole thing. Something funny that tells me he is...
  2. The worst thing you hate about your leon fr tdi pre or facelift

The only really annoying thing for me, even though its a little thing, is there is no bloody indicator to tell me when the washer fluid is getting low. DESPITE the indicator lamp actually being in the dashboard and being active. I mean how much more would it have cost to add the sensor to the...
  3. Leon FR PD170 TDi Injector problem

So.... I should not have put my remap back on after they did the injectors?
  4. Leon FR PD170 TDi Injector problem

All four of mine replaced yesterday at Central SEAT Birmingham. VOSA letter arrived last week (after SEAT had been in touch). Not noticed any difference in performance, MPG is slightly higher, and engine slightly quieter. Or maybe i'm just imagining it. Still waiting for the refund for the...
  5. Leon FR PD170 TDi Injector problem

Got a call out of the blue from SEAT customer service regarding my injector fail in june 2010. They have told me to book the car in to local dealership, who will replace the remaining injectors, and they will refund the amount i paid out on the original failed injector. I did mention that the...
  6. Leon FR PD170 TDi Injector problem

Anyone got the address & contact at SEAT to write to? Or has everyone just been emailing?
  7. Leon FR PD170 TDi Injector problem

Well I filled in my VOSA report the other day, and got a mailed letter back from VOSA stating they will be contacting the manufacturer regarding the injectors. Please can everyone who has had an injector fail fill in a VOSA defect report -- even if you have had your injectors replaced by...
  8. Leon FR PD170 TDi Injector problem

I had an injector fail, unfortunately the car was bought from a non-SEAT dealer and had 2 instances of non-SEAT servicing. SEAT would not give anything toward it because of that. Gearbox also failed 6 months later and they wouldnt give anything toward that either. Had I known what ***** they...
  9. Leon FR PD170 TDi Injector problem

Just back from a holiday and had a brief read through this thread. I see VOSA is involved? And Seat are paying up for the injectors in some cases? I had injector 2 fail last year and had to cough up for the repairs myself, replacement loom and new injector. Seat wouldnt pay anything at the time...
  10. Flywheel / Gearbox bearings

£220 for the gearbox - SEAT wanted £2000 for a new one £150 for new clutch - SEAT wanted £300 £350 for new flywheel - SEAT wanted £500 £700 labour at SEAT
  11. Flywheel / Gearbox bearings

Yeah had gearbox fail on my FR 170, bearing dropped and grinded to pieces. Couldnt afford SEAT prices so ended up with a 2nd hand Audi A3 gearbox and a new clutch and flywheel which I sourced my self.
  12. low washer fluid warning

Not as annoying as running out of washer fluid mid-winter on a 200 mile journey on the M1 and the screen getting covered in white salt which gets smeared by the "tear drop" wiper function! Even my old austin metro had a flippin washer fluid warning light :@ Suppose the old "check washer fluid...
  13. low washer fluid warning

Dont think anyone has done it. I asked a while back after enabling the dashboard light with vagcom. Looked to me like removing the front bumper, headlights, and fitting another washer bottle. Searched the net and some guy had retro fitted headlight washers on a "jetta" and it seemed like the...
  14. Leon FR PD170 TDi Injector problem

So how many of us is that now? and thats just the Leon's... nevermind the other Golf/Skoda/Passat injectors that Ive read about on the net... Also jasonbarry you probably want to look at the other thread created today "died at 80mph on motorway" I put some links in there.
  15. Died at 80 mph on motorway?

Sounds exactly like the fault I had. Injector fail. There's a guy on here who knows the procedure to test for this which you should tell your garage. Its something like disconnecting each injector one by one and starting the engine to find the faulty one. Search of a few previous threads should...
  16. Steamy Windows

Same problem here - aircon and/or heater usually clears it, but on rainy days whats the best temperature to keep the windows clear when driving? Rear side windows seem to fog up the worst but the windscreen is a pain as well.
  17. Aircon working properly?

Mine does exactly the same. It also seems to get confused after a long drive, say after being in the car 30 mins with the cc set to auto on 18, it definitely starts to get warm in the car and theres hardly any air coming out of the vents. No amount of tinkering will make it blow any faster on...
  18. 4 days out of warranty and it breaks down!!

Injector part on its own about £500, plus labour, new wiring loom usually done as well. My bill was about £950. Common fault with the vag 2.0 diesel despite what SEAT may say. Local independent VW garage told me he has seen "hundreds" and couldnt understand why they dont do a recall. Also any...
  19. Leon FR PD170 TDi Injector problem

I had the same problem few months ago, apparrently its a common fault on all the vag 2.0 deisel engines. Seat will play the innocent. Had to pay for all the repairs myself, 2 months out of warranty.
  20. Continue Seat Service History or not?

Nope, 55k miles, one previous owner, servicing done every 9000 miles, drove really sweet and nothing to indicate potential problems. Think I just have bad luck with cars, had a ford racing puma previously, and everything that could go wrong did go wrong - engine blew up in that one and I had to...
