Cheers Maz - I have been spending alot on her lately I must admit!
I had a specialist look at the wheel and the leather was badly grazed around the top edge he suggested a repair may not last overtime so after some research I found a pretty good repair and re-stitching company and well its in...
Minor update 30/8/2013.
My steering wheel has now been sent away for a full re-stitch at a cost of £160.00. Turn around time is 5 days so it might just be fitted to the car before Trax. Also I have been busy in the spray booth again! Pics to follow...
Liam.
By chance a fellow scn member was selling his Cupra R seats (S3 AKR) - They were in amazing condition considering most on ebay need alot of work to clean up. Anyway i had to have them so I managed to get a 'Buy it now' sorted and literally a week later they were fitted in my own car...
With me learning more and more in the bodyshop i finally decided to bite the bullet and sort out my front bumper which was suffering from laquar peel, stone chips and a slight scuff from a bike pedal!
No going back now!
In the booth primed wet on wet.
Base coat (spent over half an hour...
Right time for some MUCH needed updates...
Alot has happened so please bare with me.
First off was some new wheels which took me a few months to save up for! Nothing particularly new or not done before but ive always had a soft spot for them.
Pics... before 17's just dont quite work on a Leon...
Would this S2000 filter setup work with a PD150 setup? I dont know the diameter of the maf on the TDi engine but i presume its got to be the same sort of width as the Cupra R one?
Liam.
Haven't been on here for a while but i see you've been very busy with your FR. In regards to selling up... hmmmm i can see its tempting but im certain you'll fall in love again once the clutch and flywheel are sorted and with a map too you'll be grining from ear to ear.
Im looking into Hybrid...
Twat. He obviously didn't like getting his hands dirty. Too many top ups with the old tyre gel can be exccesive but it certainly wont degrade the tyre wall, it actually helps to stop them from cracking over time.
Liam.
Seized acuator was the issue - its freed up now but it caused a surge of boost which caused the car to go into limp mode. Not sure how long things will last but I've taken the car to just over 4k and it hasn't cut out....yet. Fingers are crossed.
Hi there.
Can anyone recommend a tyre with the following profile 225/45/r17 - I currently have a shite budget brand accelera alpha in the same profile - however the wall of the tyre looks massive even though it's a 45 profile - they are very rounded if that makes sense and not square faced. I...
I really hope someone can shed some light on my cars 'latest' problems.
Within the last couple of weeks my car has felt really quite down on power it feels as though it is 'bogging down' and very reluctant (especially when starting from cold).
This I was hoping was simply down to the cold...
Nice work as always Maz - I wish I had the time to get out and give mine a good once over to this level but the weather is to poor/damp really to be machining and compounding outside.
How did you find the wet sanding? - Im still pretty new at this myself but generally find it easier to do on...
Indeed it has Been a very long time since I last updated my RR and there has been some significant changes too. My most costly mod to date has now been completed... Finally an updated Sachs clutch, oem duel mass flywheel and replacement release bearing - needless to say I can now use my remap to...
