IMO i would go for the full hardware/software version HEX-CAN-USB Allows you to do everything and car from 1996 (older with 2X2 cable) to present and will cover future cars too i got mine from MI-UK £250 all in. Comes with cable/software/instructions.case and a full uk supplied warranty

Clear all the codes and go for a drive ride, then rescan to see whats still there.
