I have just upgraded the Alana to a decent enough Alpine head unit... its nothing fancy but does what i need with Ipod connectivity and an AUX port. bargain from halfords!! Chuffed!:D its the Alpine CDE W203Ri... fits and works great!

Mine has a Boot light too! would like a glove box light as well though!!

As far as i know its something to do with the ECU and conveniance module (what that is... i have no idea!) but i started a thread on this a couple days back aswell. gonna get a mate on it this week so il keep u updated if we manage to solve the mystery behind the phantom door locks!

I have a 1.2 s Seat Ibiza and have been having some weird issues with the central locking. When i press the lock button on the keyfob.. the car locks as expected, however if i press it again, the side repeaters flash and the front passengers door lock pops up but the rest stay locked! :confused...

Not too sure if the VAGCOM will actually show a fault unless the engine fault light is on :shrug: as far as i know.. until a coilpack actually has gone the fault code will show.. n you will know if ones gone because the car will run like its been kicked in the nuts! :cry:

Hmmm iv got the 8 LED sidelights... they didnt exactly 'click' into place.. but slotted in and still work fine.

Indeed... insurance companies dont tend to pay out either if its not been declared and £600 is not something id be too happy to have stolen :blink:

Ahhh Rite.. fair do's then buddy! i have full service history and a stamp at every 5k.. but this year funds wer low so had to improvise a little.. be prepared to pay the premium though.

Id stay clear of the ebay non brand ones going for about £200 or so... my mates had 2 up to now n had nothing but issues with them. with a £500 budget u could easily get yourself a pioneer or alpine unit.
