I’ve just handed my Leon FR 184 diesel to the wife at four years old with 88,000 miles on it. It’s on long life servicing so been serviced every 18-20,000 miles. It was last serviced at 78,000 and nothing identified as needed doing. It’s also successfully passed two MOT’s with no advisories...
Out of curiosity, what is your budget? Like you, I do high annual miles (circa 25k). I've recently changed from the 184FR manual (given it to the wife to run for the next four years) to the Golf MK7.5 GTD DSG. I loved the FR, the way it drove and handled and have had four years of trouble...
My 184 FR is 3 1/2 at the end of the month and covered 80000 miles with no DPF issues. The car goes to the other half on 1st March, so long may it continue without an isues (fingers crossed, touvhing wood etc.)
A bit of extra information about what you are after would be useful and might help narrow things down
For example:- Petrol or Diesel, Manual or DSG, Age
I'm getting a new vehicle on 1st March, but the FR184 is going to the other half for her to get another 3.5 years out of and hopefully...
Did you get a pic of the pot hole and it's location?
If it's a CAT 1 failure in the carriageway, the highway authority have a certain time frame to repair. It depends on the highway authority, but CAT 1 repairs are normally 24hrs for repair from identification.
If the repair hasn't been...
I've had this happen a couple of times on my car. You need to re-do the one touch lowering and losing and everything should return to normal.
I did notice on my car that the red led alarm light on the passenger door stayed on continually when this happened and I needed to reset the system...
When I got the Leon (1st September 2014), the dealer dropped it off for me at 9pm the night before and took away my trade in so I had it for my early morning drive to work on the 1st. I have to say that it was a nice feeling being one of the first new registrations on the road.
On the 1st...
My car which I've had from new is approaching 3.5 years old and I've just had the replace battery warning message. I use the press and hold locking lots of times to fold the mirrors.
Considering how long my battery has lasted, if your getting the warning message so soon after replacing the...
I've had this happen to me on a few occasions as described by Seastormer.
As has already been said, reset the windows (fully opening and then holding the button all the way to the windows are closed and then for a couple of additional seconds) and everything should revert to normal.
As...
I recently put a private plate on my car and like you, wanted the clean lines. I bought these:

They are quite good and took me about 10mins to fit front and back. Let me know if you want a...
It's a fix under warranty. I've just had my outer passenger side one done in the last couple of weeks. The dealer might insist on getting it in for an inspection first to look at it and to check it was one of the affected batch.
It's well documented on here that there was a bad batch of light...

Thanks for your feedback on the company. Like you I am really fussy. Based on your comments, I may not be fully satisfied with the completed product. I think I might do a bit more research prior to getting them refurbished. I've a couple of months to find the right company as they...
Mike
Thanks for the response. I would be interested to hear how you get on with rectification of the defect. If you don't mind me asking, what is the extent of the defect.
Like I said in an earlier post, I will be looking to get mine refurbished in the spring, so would welcome your honest...
If you don"t mind me asking, what did you get done to them (powder coated or sprayed) and how much did it cost?
Only reason I'm asking is that my winter alloys are now in desperate need of a refurb as this will be the 6th winter they have been on. I'm looking to get them done in the spring...
Where are you based? There are members on the site who have VCDS and will come and read your car and provide a log file for a few beers. Check the Vag Com section of the forum. There is a guy who works for me who has the full VCDS and other bits and pieces that has been a great help trying to...
Glad I could have been of help.
If you want to replace the pump, the Euro Car Parts part number is 488 440 090 for the one I got. You will need to check it's the right part as that is for a 58 plate 1.9tdi. I did a lot of searching for the part and the cheapest I found was ECP at £14.49...
I had a similar problem on the wife's Ibiza where I was getting puddles on the floor under the front left of the car. She was going though a full bottle of screen wash in about 4 days. I accessed the washer bottle by removing the front wheel arch liner.
Might be worth investigating before...
