I had a 1.2 tdi ibiza as a courtesy car. The engine was ruined by the overly long gearing imo.

Sat at 70 I normally see mid to high 40s, I've used a fuel app to compare with the trip computer and found it to be pretty accurate maybe reading 1-2mpg above calculated values.

I think it's mainly for wet running. More tread on the back means less chance of aquaplaning off the road backwards. Understeer's considered more manageable than oversteer I guess.

I run 35 front 32 back in an attempt to even out the tyre wear on the fronts, gives better feel and fuel consumption without compromising the ride too much.

Normal driving around town I change up between 2 and 2.5k, cruise at 60 / 70 in 6th. Haven't had any DPF issues as such (never had the dpf light on), but do find that sticking to legal speeds in 6th doesn't always seem to generate enough exhaust heat to allow a passive re-gen. I have on...

There's a rattle on mine from what sounds like behind the glove box. I hear it the most when driving over really broken / rough road surfaces. Though the whole dash sounds loose when driving over larger bumps!
