Car remembers Aura code - Nonsense ??

I think I know the answer to this one from a quick search.. but I'm sure you guys can confirm. I have a 2004 Leon Mk1 which I bought new. Soon after I removed the Aura CD 2 to fit a Becker GP with phone & iPod attachments. I'll soon be selling/part-exing the car so I want to put the...

Clogged vanes / Limp mode - Still an issue?

I have a mk1 TDi 110 and am currently suffering with the limp mode problem, very probably due to clogged up turbo vanes. Has this been sorted on new Mk2 TDi's or is it still an issue?

Rear washer - Is there a 4th place?

Right... just had a most unsuccessful attempt to get the washer bottle out. :( See pics. I removed the 10mm plastic nuts at A and B and then loosened bolt C on the frame so the bottom of the bolt didn't get in the way. However.. even though the bottle will now wobble about a...

Rear washer - Is there a 4th place?

Right.. further investigation today.. water is going into the engine bay and then down onto the road under the car. It seems to be coming out of the bottom of the water bottle where I can't see. Garage job?

Rear washer - Is there a 4th place?

OK, usual problem.. no water coming out of the rear washer. Pump motor is whirring away.. but no liquid. I had this last year and the stealer fixed it. At that time, the water was peeing out of the boot latch area so it waas obviously a pipe off in there. Thats dry this time. The area...

Getting to the rear washer motor

Yes it is what I meant. I need to get under the trim. Lots of past threads say its a hell of a lot easier if you remove the "rear light clusters" to do this.. but I'm not certain what they mean exactly.

Getting to the rear washer motor

Got the old leaky rear washer problem. Nothing coming out of the nozzle.. open the boot.. pours out of the boot latch area. I've had a search and seen the scary threads about boot trim removal. Quick question.. A few threads mention it's an easier job if you remove the "rear light...

    Another limpy turbo..

Sounds good. But won't the turbo cut out and the engine go into limp mode if I try these ideas?

    Another limpy turbo..

Seem to have the old turbo problemo.. but wondered if the specifics might pin down the issue or whether its still a mechanic job to pinpoint it. 54 plate Leon TDi 110. 41K on the clock. Up to 18 months ago, lots of motorway driving. Avg about 12K a year. Past 18 months. Mainly a...

    Hobin of Bury

Hmmm... I was never too impressed with Pennine Bury so thought when Hobin took them over it would be a good thing. Recently popped in for a couple of parts and if anything, the customer service seemed worse than Pennine used to be. Just didn't seem interested, not listening to what I'm...

Rear Wiper Blade (standard not Fabia) - Where?

Anyone know where I can get a replacement standard rear wiper blade apart from a dealer? Tried Halfords - according to their little guides the Leon Mk1 has no rear wiper (news to me!) and the assistant I asked was a muppet Checked a few websites (inc wiperblades.co.uk) and no rear listed...

    WD40 for tar spots?

I've been using a bit of WD40 on a cloth to remove stubbon tar and bug spots - followed immediately by a soapy wash to remove the WD40. Works a treat and cheaper than buying a seperate tar & bug remover - but as the dentist in Marathon Man would say... is it safe ?

Tyre Experts - Hairline cracks in treads?

:) When he told me about the cracking being "lethal" I got quite worried. But then he started slagging off the FK452s as cheap crap.. I knew he was just talking shite.

Fair enough. I might try a different fitting station though. I'm not going back there after he dissed my Falkens!!!

Tyre Experts - Hairline cracks in treads?

The tyres are 3 years old. Like I said.. I know they're at the end of their life and will be changing them soon anyway. I know a crack in the sidewall is dangerous but the sidewalls are in perfect nick. In fact, apart from tread wear.. they're in pretty good shape.

Tyre Experts - Hairline cracks in treads?

Just been to have 2 fronts fitted. Bought them on BlackCircles.com (excellent) and they were delivered for fitting at a local tyre place which for now I shall not name. They fitted the fronts OK and then I asked for the tracking to be done. Had to pay extra but it needed doing. Whilst it...
