ST boot: remove upper side panels to replace luggage cover latch

OK here are some pictures. 1. Unscrew these two screws: 2. Pull (quite hard) from rear of the panel until it comes away, there are two clips you need to pull out. 3. Pull these three tabs out from under the carpet liner: 4. You should be able to pull the panel far enough to reach down and...

ST boot: remove upper side panels to replace luggage cover latch

All sorted thanks. I took a few photos and will post them later, in case it helps anyone else who comes across this in the future. Seems like it'll be a pretty widespread problem. Annoyingly my plan to use double sided tape to secure the catch Didn't look like it would work as the catch doesn't...

Thanks eltawater, I'll give this a try when I get a few minutes during daylight hours! Sadly I'm way out of warranty...

ST boot: remove upper side panels to replace luggage cover latch

Hi all, it's been a while since I've been here. I've searched and can't find details on this - hopefully someone can help me! I have a 64 plate Leon ST and the latch that the luggage cover clicks into has vanished! It must have become detached and fallen somewhere between the bodywork and the...

Thanks JACUPRA280, will give this a try and post back here. Cheers!

2014 Leon ST FR - knocking noise seemingly from steering rack

Hard to be certain but it seems like a mechanical noise.

2014 Leon ST FR - knocking noise seemingly from steering rack

Hi all, I've noticed my 64 plate Leon ST FR (1.4 TSI) has started occasionally making a kind of knocking noise when manoeuvring at or near full lock. The noise is a single knock while turning the steering wheel. It doesn't seem to do it again if I repeat the same manoeuvre straight...

Have you had the headlight issue?

Honestly the video is fine, it shows the problem pretty clearly. I haven't had this issue on my 64 plate ST, but will keep an eye out for it. For those who are seeing this problem frequently it might be worth recording each cold start just in case the problem happens - you would then have...

    iPhone Holder

I've got the Airframe (not + version) and it works fine in the Leon - it's a nice simple solution and can easily be removed if you occasionally use another vehicle. However it's not going to work in all vehicles as you mention.

    Seat Baby seat's

I don't have experience with the Recaro seats offered by Seat but can recommend the Kiddy Guardian Pro 2. They do an Isofix and non-Isofix version. It was recommended to me by a couple of differernt people, and I have to say it's very good. The 'impact shield' apparently offers better upper...

    Coming back to Seat !!!!!

I've got the 1.4 150 ACT (now called Eco) in the ST body style. The engine is certainly punchy enough, and is undeniably a very clever bit of kit with the cylinder deactivation - but of course for the real fun you'll need to go for one of the higher output engines. Depends what you are looking...

2014 Leon 1.4 ACT Tsi FR 150 Eco Mode Noise

No mine doesn't make any noise like this. Hope you can get it sorted - sounds nasty.

    Cylinder cutout

ACT is on the 1.4 TSI only, and only on models manufactured after a certain date (2015MY vehicles I think?). However this article suggests Audi are planning to introduce it on the 1.8 next year. If that's true I guess it might eventually trickle through to VW, Seat and Skoda. To answer your...

1.4 TSI ACT - Little Niggles

On my 64 plate 1.4 ACT 150 it is barely perceptible when the cylinder mode changes. It's not really a hesitation, stutter or jerk, but you can sometimes feel the change if you are really looking out for it. Most of the time I don't notice at all. 1st - 2nd gear change is smooth and quiet.

Costly broken ST parcel shelf pins

Another option would be to get replacements 3D printed using a service like Shapeways. You'd need to take some very precise measurements of the part with a set of vernier calipers, then make a 3D model for printing. I've no idea what the strength would be like, but it would be interesting...

    Door card bubbling, quality issue?

In my opinion unless you've been doing something very weird to your door this has to be a manufacturing defect and therefore covered under warranty. I used to work as a design engineer for an automotive company of a similar size to the VAG group, making similar classes of vehicle to SEATs, VWs...

1.4TSI ACT FR vs 1.8TSi FR

Have done similar mileage in my 1.4 ACT (150) FR ST. Motorway runs are 42-47mpg, and I'm averaging just over 41mpg overall. Nearly all journeys are fairly heavily laden, two adults, toddler and a boot load of stuff. Although by no means super-quick, I've been really impressed with that little...

    Door rattles!!

Yes same here. My driver's door has a slight rattle / vibration from somewhere near the top rear area of the trim. This stops when I push my elbow outwards, pushing the door trim firmly onto the door itself.

    LED headlights in snow

I'm not doubting what you are saying but I'm really surprised to read this. I find the main beam to be excellent, and a big difference vs dipped beam (which is just okay). I wonder if there is there is some variation in light intensity between vehicles.

    Technology Pack worth it?

Agreed, I'd be very surprised if they stopped this offer. I'm probably over thinking this but I wonder if Seat are also offering this promotion to simplify things on the production line. No need for the extra complexity of supplying RHD halogen light units.
