Which 7 speed DSG gearbox do I have?

Thanks for the reply, you seem certain, how do you know when the dealers don't appear to have a clue. Will one of the codes on the build sticker confirm it? I also have a petrol FR 190 4Drive Ateca, any idea which DSG gearbox that will have?

Which 7 speed DSG gearbox do I have?

Hi All, I have a 2018 Ateca Xcellence TDI 190 4Drive with a 7 speed DSG, I've been trying to find out when the DSG needs its service but can't find any details in the user manuals. I have spoken with several different dealers giving them my reg and VIN number an have had a different answer from...

Replacing Rear Pads with Electric Parking Brake (EPB)

Thanks for this guide, gave me the confidence to do this on my 2018 Ateca rather then pay the dealer £160. I've always changed my own pads but this is my first car with an electric parking brake so thought DIY wasn't an option. I used Carista which was very simple to use.

    Interior lights

Looks like it has a fixed 12v and a fixed 0v and a switched 0v (not a switched 12v) I'v investigate further over the weekend.

    Interior lights

Hi, I've got the same issue, did you get it fixed? I've ruled out the switch in the light as there is no switched 12v getting to it when the door is open, (permanent 12v is ok.) The door micro switch must be ok because the rear interior lights trigger when the door opens. And finally VAG-COM...

    Newbury SEAT has Re-Opened

And it's no longer run by Emmer Green :funk: I popped in today after spotting dealer flags and many SEAT's parked out side, thought that's a bit odd for a dealership that closed down in December! Turns out that it has been taken over by Whitequay, (who run the Newbury Skoda dealership a few...

    Vagcom Scan

I've just been to the Ross-Tech web site, looks like they have re-named VAG-COM to VCDS. Looks like you have the new version of the old version! so should be fine.

    Vagcom Scan

What version are you using, your screen shot is slightly different to mine, mines release 409.1, which I think most people use with the e-bay interfaces

    Vagcom Scan

As it say's, you can't do an auto scan if you don't have a licence, just means you have to scan each module in turn. In the main screen click on "SELECT" then choose a module, once the module has opened communication there should be an option near the bottom left to read the faults.

    OBD2 installation

In the software are you selecting USB or serial com-port for the connection? The cheap cables have an inbuilt serial to USB converter so you need to configure the software to use the virtual com-port that gets assigned to it instead of 'USB' (at least this is how it works with VAG-com)
