    Fuel flap stuck shut

Sorry to come back so late on this one! The dealer diagnosed a failed Solenoid and replaced - it now locks and unlocks with an audible clunk! They also replaced the condensated rear light clusters and greased the front drive shaft gaiters which was the cause of the rubbing sound on lock...

    Fuel flap stuck shut

I pressed every square centimeter of it the other day, fairly certain it's buggered. When it did open and before I WD40'd it, with the flap open the lock didn't spring open when pressed so I'm quite convinced. Just glad it happened now as the Warranty is up in September!

    1.4 TSI - super unleaded?

I've run VPower on my 1.8 from new mainly for the cleaning qualities as my mileage during the week is quite low and it supposedly helps reduce deposits on the valves/cyls etc. No Tesco 99 round here for me else I'd give it a go. I did hear some time ago that Super benefits engines with a...

    Fuel flap stuck shut

Thanks guys. The WD40 seemed to get it to work yesterday, until I tried it again this morning, nothing. Luckily the tank is full so I'll call Snows on Monday! Good to hear they seem to resolve the issue.

    Fuel flap stuck shut

Thanks for the responses. I went out again earlier to try and see if it would open and miraculously on the ~15th attempt, it popped open. I left the flap open and pushed the spring back in - lock/unlock - pop. Pushed it in again, now it is stuck "closed" again, however I've managed to...

    Fuel flap stuck shut

Hi all, Went to fill up earlier (luckily not on the red) and found that my fuel flap wouldn't open. Tried fully locking and unlocking in hope that it may pop open, to no avail. Is there a manual release lever/procedure at all? I can't hear it locking/unlocking at all (if it actually...

    Name for your mk 3

My Mum used to name all our cars - most from the reg's. My old Clio was Lexi (LX**EXR), last Leon was 'arvey (RV06) though that quickly became Black B*****d when the turbo went. Current one is Marvin as named by my girlfriend, again from the reg (MVN)

Changing Between Drive & Sport Mode On A DSG Box

I find this feature handy and use it a lot in my 1.8. Does anyone know if it is the full Sport mode, or just a change of the gear hold time to stop it changing at 3k (in the 1.8 at least)?

Which FR... 1.4 vs 1.8 TSI

Heavier, larger car with a larger engine. Doesn't have to work as hard around town, but more wind resistance (and larger rolling resistance from wheel size) on the motorway. Tbf I get anything 26-38 round town, 28-34 on my commute. Seen <42 on a clear night round town though. Sent from my...

Which FR... 1.4 vs 1.8 TSI

Not sure what you're expecting - it isn't a diesel. I used to get 53-57mpg@60-65 from my old (knackered turbo) TDI and will see 46-47 from my TSI at the same speeds which IMO is astounding considering what's under the bonnet :)

    Super unleaded

Aside from the dealer tank (presumably Texaco due to the proximity to the dealer), I've always used VPower without a second thought. Needed or not, I spent <£25k on this beaut so an extra £3.60 per tank isn't going to bankrupt me. I fill every 3 weeks or so, so that makes about £62 difference...

    leon fr sc 1.8 dsg

Total is (if I remember) £24,800. 50% down (inc £3k for a buggered Mk2 TDI and £1k dealer contributed) so £8k down and £12k over 3 years. Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk

    leon fr sc 1.8 dsg

I have the winter pack too - well worth it IMO. Even helps if you've done your back in! You get them "included in the price" with leather - so the seats are effectively £850 as the LP is £1200 (or was when I spec'd). Much preferred the look of the Alcantara. Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk

    leon fr sc 1.8 dsg

Most seem to, the one I ended up buying from their pool was better spec'd than the one I'd ordered (+ Sound, Alcantara, Driver Assist) and that one was the figure they quoted on so I guess we may be lucky... Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk

    leon fr sc 1.8 dsg

That's what they claimed. Though I guess it could be less and that's what they're willing to buck the difference of. Had it not been for the cheaper 0% deal I'd have probably leased. Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk

    leon fr sc 1.8 dsg

Price seems about right. Depreciation was always thought to hit the 1.8 DSG hardest. Though when I was looking to lease, the dealer said it would have a GFV of about £9k so maybe things will settle down... Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk

    1.8TSI boost pressure?

To be honest I'm not sure if it can be, aside from the option to adjust pressure by atmospheric of + or - 14.7PSI - as it is calculated from a few other sensors, I guess if one of those was out it would give a different reading (and most likely an Engine Light).
