    Anti Roll Bars

I agree, the ideal setup is generally thought of to have a slight push towards understeer when reaching the limit during steady state cornering (standard setup is more than a slight push!). This doesn't mean to say that a thicker rear bar than front will not achieve this, it's all dependant on...

    Anti Roll Bars

This is purely to create a more understeer biased setup, just like pretty much every standard road car sold. ARBs are just springs, adjusting spring rate will achieve the same outcome as adjusting ARB stiffness, they achieve the same function. The only difference being, ARBs do not have any...

    Anti Roll Bars

They do reduce grip at the end that is being stiffened but that grip is not lost, it's just moved to the other end. Imagine a model car sitting on a road of plastacine, the car has a rod sticking vertically up from the roof which you use to simulate weight transfer, pushing it side to side. Now...

    Anti Roll Bars

There is quite a lot of confusion regarding ARBs and how they work. ARBs affect chassis balance as discussed, i.e the tendency to over/understeer. The key thing which some people don't grasp is, it's the relative thickness front to rear which defines balance and not the individual thickness of...

Weird sound after fitting TIP - 007 DV - Jabba induction kit

It's the plastic guard fitted to the MAF which creates this distinct SSSSSHHH'ing sound at peak load apparently. I asked Revo when I had mine done because it sounds very odd and I also thought something was wrong. Do you hear it most accelerating under load, high gear low rpm?

    Economical LCR

It would be leaning off but on the more cautious rich side, definitely wouldn't be trying to achieve a lean running condition.

    N249 bypass issues...

There was a guy making posts on some of the N249 threads stating that the N249 is actually used coming off throttle to open the DV quicker than the manifold vacuum, based off throttle pedal inputs.

    Economical LCR

I noticed the exact same thing when mine was in limp with the same too rich fault. Nearly all exhaust gasses are being diverted away from the turbo in limp but even driving off boost it's almost impossible to get that high imo. Shouldn't be too difficult to rig up a switch to the N75 contacts...

    Service/Tuning in Bristol

I can recommend Mitch at Streetwise automotive, and I can also sure as hell recommend a few supposed VAG specialists in Bristol to avoid that's for sure

So what LCR engine mods apart from the obvious?

The extra 10bhp or so gained with all the stage 2 bits is pretty expensive, I'd rather spend that money on arbs/tyres/brakes etc.

    engine cleaning

Are there any components that need covering? (with a spray cleaner/regular hose 'drizzle' to rinse)

Anyone got an accurate diagram of the BAM/AMK LCR 1.8T (N249 related)

Mainly interested in the boost control system (N249 and assorted hoses etc.) I've found 3 but none of them seem correct (for different version of the 1.8T I expect) For reference here is an image of the LCR N249 hoses shamelessly nicked from the excellent N249 guide This looks...

    N249 Bypass guide LCR

Is there any reason why you need new hose and can't just connect the two original hoses together? Also, how doesn't this stop the secondary air injection system working?

Where to draw the line on cost when buying a Cupra R

You are living in the best possible scenario so things can only get more expensive if your situation changes. I'd always buy with the consideration of extra mileage, I'd hate to have to sell a car because I couldn't afford it. I'm not trying to scare you off but imo, the LCR can get very...

How many miles on your LCR's OE clutch since remap?

45k remapped on the same clutch. It must be pretty beefy to last so long, who makes it?

Bank too rich + whining noise

They're claiming there's no way the rust could have come from the station yet I can't think of any other way it could have got into my tank!

Bank too rich + whining noise

Is there anything in the entire fuel system that could cause rust to be found in the tank??

Bank too rich + whining noise

Mechanic just phoned, the tank was full of rust. It's pretty easy to narrow it down to the right petrol station, I only ever use the one! Bloody Tesco.
