  1. Bulb Sizes

Problem with front interior LEDs I have just bought 2 x 501's and a 42mm LED festoon and fitted them in the front interior roof lining unit. When the door is shut, the rear interior roof lights fade as you would expect after the initial delay but the front ones momentarily flash off and then...
  2. AMD Stage 1 Map on a Liquid Gauge

Quoting to try and re-connect links to dyno plots
  3. AMD Stage 1 Map on a Liquid Gauge

Thanks Bill, so would you say all is well but maybe time for a new maf? Apart from running low on power, what else would be the effect of a tired maf? Would it run rich or lean? I should have also said that I had a Terraclean done to the car last week. It was fine on emissions beforehand...
  4. AMD Stage 1 Map on a Liquid Gauge

Thanks for the comments so far. Only other power mod is Forge 007p with yellow spring. I cannot find the dyno from AMD when I had the car re-mapped in January 2011 but everything was as expected. I have endured a frustrating morning of not being able to get full 'dyno runs' in fourth...
  5. AMD Stage 1 Map on a Liquid Gauge

Just after some quick thoughts on the 'dyno plot' in 3rd gear using a Liquid Gauge (MAF method) of a 210bhp re-mapped with an AMD Stage 1 map. Power 237bhp @ ~6000rpm Torque 265ftlb @ ~4000rpm Does everything look like it should? I probably expected power to be slightly more. 0-60 is...
  6. LCR starting problem

This did get resolved eventually. There was charge in the battery so that ruled that out. In the end it turned out that the ignition barrel needed replacing. Generally things electrical now seem a lot better.
  7. Crackling speakers

In my LCR 210, I get ocassional periodic crackling of the speakers on both the CD and to a lesser extent the radio. Not always, and more prone in hot weather or after prolonged driving. HU has been checked by Canterbury Car Radio and no fault was found. Any suggestions? Thoughts so far; issue...
  8. My DIY Short Shifter

If you look at the Forge guide on their website (for a Golf), it does suggest that as well as moving the cable over to the new pin you also need to adjust at the gearlever as well to avoid notchiness. When you look at Pabs' guide and others comments on the install peeps don't seem to do that...
  9. My DIY Short Shifter

As said, tapping the shifter would be the best solution. Regards the comments re the PLI, of course if someone does a bad job that's a problem but what's proposed is not rocket science. We have become too litigious as a society, and our fear to try things (and on the grand scale this isn't...
  10. Another rear wiper question

Fabia rear, Golf retro fit front and no problems with either.
  11. cheap aero wipers, Ebay

The retro fit part is just the blades... they fit onto your existing arms (mkiv golf, leon etc) in the same way replacement blades would. Look much better than the originals (not as good as a full conversion) and work much better than originals (again not as good as a full conversion according...
  12. cheap aero wipers, Ebay

True about the curvature of the screen, though the retrofit VW blades are still a HUGE improvement on the stock items. I got mine off eBay and were a reasonable price.
  13. fabia rear wiper arm

It is so worth doing... and once done the replacement blades are a lot cheaper than getting the usual Bosch from Halfrauds. In the long run it will pay for itself... ok, maybe in 10 years time.
  14. LCR front splitter, how often do you scrape yours?

All the time... good news though is it doesn't really show even when scraped so I live with it and if a problem when I come to sell I'll just replace it. Amazed that Seat sells it so cheap, but hey not complaining.
  15. LCR Gear stick

Big thanks to coopra R for his refurb guide  I followed his advice, removed the ring and painted it using a cellulose primer (suitable for painting plastics) that I had lying around, and then used Halfrauds Black Bumper paint (£5.79) to give a matt black that matches the rest of the...
  16. LCR starting problem

Basically this has happened 4 times recently, all in the morning in coldish weather but with a variety of driving the night before (ie both long and short trips). I turn the key and nothing happens, and I mean nothing, na da, nyet. No apparent sound of starter motor, fuel pump or anything...
