Perhaps the remap the car had previously is not optimised for your recent mods and another mapping session is required?
Sounds like a lot of torque for a standard turbo but presumably the high torque is not being sustained to high enough revs to give you the power you want, for some reason...
Not sure if the PD130 pipework is like the PD150, but the bayonet fittings on the PD150 pressure pipework between the turbo and engine are know to wear and leak - the rubber pipes have an aluminium end on them with two prongs which locate into the female half of the fitting and are held in place...
My FR TDI is very whistly, so I think it's normal.
I gather without a CAT you will fail the MoT if the car was originally fitted with one. Mine's a 2004 and has a cat.
Worth checking for any leaks from the pressure pipework between the turbo, intercooler and inlect manifold though as the...
Seems to be this stuff is intended to keep water and oxygen out of electrical connections but not to actually enhance the connection itself, as the grease is electrically insulating - there's an article about halfway down this page:

2004 FR TDI
Clutch-friendly custom remap from R T e c h:
175hp
300lb ft.
Stainless cat-back exhaust
Cold-air intake into standard airbox
Engine otherwise standard
Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2 alloys, downsized to 16" with 205/55 tyres, saving 4kg a corner vs standard wheels...
60k miles on the same air filter? Seriously?!
I change the oil and filter on my FR TDI yearly, at about 6500-7000 miles. Diesels contaminatr their oil quickly and clean oil is good for the turbo bearings, it is thinner than carbon-choked oil and circulates more quickly on cold starts. I...
My standard clutch slipped at 300lb ft so got a standard replacement that is holding so far. Upgraded clutches cost about 3 times what a remap costs!
You might want to consider when the exra power kicks in. I find my flywheel complains if I try to accelerate hard from much below 2000rpm so...
Got my EGR turned down by a VAG specialist using VCDS, I think using a procedure I found on this site somewhere. Mine's a 1.9TDI so I'm not sure if VCDS offers equivalent functionality for your engine.
Perhaps a blanking plate would be simpler, with a small hole allowing some flow so the...
Maybe try the Terraclean treatment - a few people seem to have seen benefits from it?
Seems a more concentrated cleaning process than the usual fuel additives.
Might be more beneficial for a higher-mileage engine if its never been cleaned out. I think there's a thread on here...
The fault occurred, the CTS was replaced (by a VAG specialist, so I'd hope with a genuine sensor though who knows) and the fault has persisted.
The fact that the gauge randomly flicks instantaneouly from minimum scale reading to normal operating temperature while driving made me think it's...
The 1.9 TDI is tough and has been remapped extensively so provided your engine is in good health to start with and hasn't covered mega-miles you should be fine. Make sure all the pressure pipework between the turbo and engine and all the pipe unions are in good conditon and not leaking (the...
Cheers, will have to find a local with VCDS then - might be tricky up here!
The water pump was upgraded with the later metal impeller version when the cambelt was done in 2011, so I'm not suspecting that.
Assuming the recent CTS hasn't failed, it points to either the wiring between the CTS...
Got a problem with my 2004 Leon FR TDI.
When driving with the engine warmed up (or at least, after enough miles to warm it up), the temperature gauge fluctuates between reading normal engine temperature and minimum scale temperature (something like 60°C).
Have read about thermostat...
