  1. DGJ's Leon Cupra TDI - Staggered Rims, AP Coilovers, 312mm Brakes, Milltek Turbo-Back

Diesels don't have the oil level sensor in the sump, thats only on the petrol models as far as I'm aware. I have the shallow sump on my FR and didn't have any problems with lights on.
  2. Pictures of your Mk1. 3 pictures max.

    My dirty diesel
  3. Cupra R - tax gone up?

I wished I lived in England, your tax is a lot cheaper than over here in Ireland. I'm paying €710 a year for a 150 fr tdi, and our roads are twice as bad as English roads, what a rip off. Think a cupra is around €650 for the year. No wonder there are so many poverty spec cars over here.
  4. My Platinum Grey Cupra R -

Lovely car mate, very rare to see a clean lcr over this side of the water. Where u from?

  7. Fuming stone chips!

You can get the front end wrapped with a clear plastic film, seen it done to a Lamborghini on the detailingworld forum. I had my front end resprayed last year and it has a good few stone chips on it again already, very disheartening when you put so much time into waxing and cleaning your car.
  8. Noisy transmission even after new clutch release bearing

If I get a good second hand gearbox in the near future il let you have my old box, but il prob just drive this one into the ground and get it refurbed. Might try traynors scap yard up in your part of the country there usually good for spares. It's hard to find a 6 speed box in this part of the...
  9. Noisy transmission even after new clutch release bearing

I can get my own box reconditioned for about €450 (£380), that doesn't include labour removing and refitting the gearbox. I might look into getting a second hand box first and send my own one of to be refurbed at some stage. Can really afford to have the car off the road for to long. Do you...
  10. Honeycomb to slatted grill

I prefer the slatted grill to the honeycomb one aswell, especially on the lcr. Never seen one on a facelift bumper, get some pics up if you fit it.
  11. Noisy transmission even after new clutch release bearing

I have the same problem as you, only started happening about 6 months after getting an upgraded Sachs clutch. I brought the car to my local vw specialist and he reckoned it was something to do with the gearbox, possibly a worn bearing. He changed the gear oil at the same time and the stuff...
  12. Had a scary moment yesterday

I've 20mm spacers on the rear of my Leon and it only catches the plastic inside the arch when I have a few peeps in the back. 15mm should defiantly be fine. I'd recommend the rear ARB first aswell. Spacers are more for looks, don't think they offer much handling improvements, well I didn't...
  13. Carbon fibre wing mirrors

They look the business, would also like to know where you got them. Let us know how well they fit when you get round to putting them on
  14. Diesel tuning

http://www.darksidedevelopments.co.uk/engine-parts/ Best place for diesel performace parts I think the manifold is part of the turbo on these cars so there's no point changing that unless your getting a bigger turbo
  15. Rattle from passenger side dash

I had a rattle in my Leon that sound like it was coming from behind the dash. Turned out to be the steel brake lines rattling off the firewall in the engine bay. The mounting brackets were a bit worn and the lines were able to vibrate. Used a few cable ties to tighten them up and it's been fine...
  16. Anyone buy these boost hoses?

Just checked their eBay store and couldn't see any boost hose kits for the 150bhp tdi engines
  17. Anyone buy these boost hoses?

Was looking through eBay and came across these boost pipes for a mk1 fr tdi. http://http://item.mobileweb.ebay.co.uk/viewitem?itemId=221063586322&index=3&nav=SEARCH&nid=99254452285 Can't understand the description, but they look good, and a bit cheaper than a full sfs kit Anyone on here buy...
  18. Changing Alarm Siren

You can change the alarm tone with vcds. There's a German alarm tone and an Asian one aswell. I changed mine to the German one about a month ago. Have to test it yet.
  19. how many miles has everybody done??

128,000 on my mk1 fr tdi Leon. Still going strong
  20. Help choosing a clutch

I have a Sachs ungraded paddle clutch with an OEM DMF on my fr. I've it on my car for a year and a half now and it's fine. My cars mapped to 185bhp and 320ft/lbs of torque, think the clutch is rated for around 380ft/lbs so its well able to hold the power. If I was to buy a clutch again I'd go...
