Real shame he's going. Along with Frank Williams he was one of the last guys in F1 to still be in it for the sport and not the business or brand promotion. I always felt he was the voice of sense in the pitlane.
Just a thought, but with Honda withdrawing, would Ross Brawn be out of...
Does anyone know of a simple guide to the new/updated regulations for F1 in 2009?
I've looked on both the ITV and BBC F1 sections and both are devoid of anything useful.
What are the main changes other than slicks?
Phill
Gutting news when I heard it. He was such a nice chap.
Met him at Brands a couple of years ago at a race meeting. He gave up his time at about 8am to come down and say a thank you to all the marshals for turning out and supporting the meeting. He stuck around to have a chat with anyone and...
Not according to the Autosport International website. It says, "All visitors to Autosport International on Friday / Saturday / Sunday will be able to access PistonHeads The Performance Car Show ABSOLUTELY FREE!"
I also have a ticket for Saturday and the 3.30pm show - might see you there...
Were you at Curborough on Saturday, Rob?
Just heard that somebody called Deryk Young set a new record - 50.43 for a double run, crossing the line at a speed of 136mph. On their third run, they crossed the finish line at 142mph - that seems a bl**dy fast speed to cross the finish line at, must...
He was forced to retire after a few laps unfortunately. Shame as he was mad in Saturday's race. Scary watching him drift it inside cars 3 times as big
Shame you didn't stick around, Stu (though understandable with the stupidly long break), as there was some really good racing in the historics and Ginettas.
Tremendous scrap for almost the whole historic race between a Morgan Aero and a Riley Falcon. Got the performance of the day vote from...
If you didn't like it, please, please, please contact MSVR and/or Jonathan Palmer and let him know. DTMs are due back for at least 2 more years, so it'd be nice to get some feedback in so they can put it right next year.
Not guilty! I was flagging at post 22 (Clearways) just after the medical centre, where the GP circuit rejoins the Indy circuit. Had my SEAT cap on, probans tied off at the waist and just a white nomex top on.
Kristensen lost his steering and headbutted the barriers right in front of us -...
See you guys there then. I'm marshalling the Saturday and Sunday - don't know where yet though. Gonna be scorchio so I shall probably have my overalls rolled down to the waist and just have my white nomex underlayer on my top half. Will try to remember my SEAT cap, so look out for me (and any...
A big well done to Paul Horton & Mark Cunningham, racing their SEAT Leon Cupra R in Production S1 at this weekends Britcar meet at Brands. The guys brought the car home 3rd in class 2 and 7th overall after 2 hours.
The car looked to handle brilliantly and was really rapid. It was a joy to...
Rob Huff is a driving god!
Met a marshal on Sunday morning who'd been on post 17 (Westfield exit) on the Saturday when Huff had backed the reasonably priced car into the barriers. Apparently Huff got out of the car, walked over to the marshals and said, "Sorry guys, but I had to give it...
Glowing like a belisha beacon with all the wind-burn from today. Not too wet, but the forecast for tomorrow isn't much better, and attrocious for Sunday.
Haven't seen any times, but the SEATs do look good. So too does ex-SEAT driver Rob Huff. Priaulx is smooth through the bends, but...
All the passenger laps I've seen before at Brands have required helmets, so I'd say bring it. It also speeds things up greatly, as you can be waiting in your skid-lid ready to go when the previous person gets back, and don't have to faff around changing over.
Plus avoids using smelly, smeggy...
To all the lucky winners - you *******s!!! :censored:
Not only am I not eligible, but I have to marshal the track for your lucky g*ts on your hot laps! :banghead:
If you don't at least wave on your way past, I will deploy the red flag :redcard: ;)
You rang ;)
Best advice I can give you - there's no such thing as a stupid question!
If you've got a question, ask it.
Don't know what else you've been told, so apologies if I'm telling you what you already know.
Put together a kit bag. You'll want clothing for all weathers - last...
Did you mean to catch Jonathan Palmer riding his scooter whilst on his mobile phone in DSCN0952.JPG?!
Or were you just taking a piccie of the SEATs on the South Bank?
