I will do mate. Won't be replacing it Yet though as its only a slightly slipping occasionally and I'm busy for the next few weekends. But unless anyone has any reasons not to use this one, it will definitely be put in within the next few months, if the old one holds out until then
So my clutch has started slipping on my fr150 so I've been looking at replacing it. I've read on here it's best to change the dmf as well so been looking at prices for the two. Has anyone used this kit from dark side developments...
Turbo off and on again in about 4 hours so wasn't too bad, but then couldn't get the drive shaft back in due to the balls falling out the joint on the gearbox end and not being able to put them back. If anyone is to remove the driveshaft I would suggest being very careful not to knock the end as...
Oh fair enough, I've gone one before on a mondeo but was hoping that someone on there who has done it may be able to help me save time by telling me the best way. It's a brand new turbo direct from Garrett so it should be set up correctly, that's one reason I went for new over a recon. Quite...
Are you doing it from the top or bottom? Them two bolts in the picture that go onto the manifold I took off from underneath the car. There is enough room under there as I have a fr150 too. The two Allen key ones are harder granted but wasn't too hard to do.
This is the guild I followed and was very easy.

I didn't have limp mode, but mine was sluggish until I did this. It may not sort your problem but it's worth a shot as it has helped...
Good evening guys, just wanted some advice from anyone who has changed a turbo on a fr150. My turbo gave up on me last week so this Saturday I'll be replacing it. I brought a brand new standard Garrett turbo after a long hard think about going hybrid, but in the end decided new clutch and...
Sorry to cause a argument gents, I only wanted some advice and some feedback on what steps to take. All feedback is welcome and everyone has different ideas. I think I will pay a company to extract the plug as don't want to do it myself and then if that doesn't fix the problem the wire loom is...
Yeah I've got a few places searching for me but so far that's the cheapest they have come up with. Cheers I'll sort something out. Thanks for the help guys
Wow it is cheap. £60 per broken plug. I will phone later to ask the success rate and may go for that. And yes that diy kit looks like the one I looked at before, but would rather pay someone who knows what they are doing to remove it. I can see it going wrong if I attempt it. Cheers :-)
Hi Muttley thanks for the reply. I have seen loads of tools online that are for removing broken glow plugs, but I'm really not that confident with my ability to try. After watching videos in the past about how to do it, looks very complicated and likely for me to make it worse. If I was to drop...
Really you think that cheap? I'll have to have a ring around and see if I can find one if that's the case. Have you ever changed one on a leon? I'm sure a few hours are involved though. I've changed heads on a v8 tvr, but there an old car, not sure it's quite the same
Cost mostly. Wouldn't that be more expensive in the long run? And how much trust can you put in a engine from a scrap yard? I'm open to ideas though, so I can i will consider it.
Thanks for the quick reply, I did think that was the case but thought I would ask the question in case there was a way in vagcom to stop it. Fixing it really isn't an option for me at the moment as funds are low and a new turbo is needed first. But if anyone does know a way it could be possible...
