Ok folks it's done. Long day yesterday for both me and the Awesome guys! Intercooler, Coilovers and roll bar fitted and all aligned nicely.
Nice run back up the M6 with the car breathing in nice cold air. Roundabouts are a treat!!!
Before work began
Then some workshop pics. Awesome did an...
Small break in the clouds this morning so I thought I would tackle the turbo inlet elbow and muffler delete that I had lying around for a few weeks.
A lot easier than I thought to do this job, just over an hour from start to finish. Only a couple of torx bits and a screwdriver required.
I'll be...
Got one of the Black Friday sale goodies fitted a few days ago. It was a surprisingly easy job. The trickiest part was making sure not to drop any bolts into the engine!!
The Leyo plate in position. The quality is good!
The catch tank fits nice over the engine mount. I just need to fettle the...
Yep I reckon you are right about the removal / refit. If a decent day of weather arrives I think I'll have a crack at it!
The jar seems a reasonable suggestion too.....
Not yet I was looking on my phone last night which is never as good. Laptop on now so I'll head to Wagner!!
Later..... ah yes I see the guide. It's the same as the paper one that came with the kit. I might have a go, but Awesome quote 4 hours labour which means 8 for me!!
Hi folks. I bought a Wagner intercooler for my Cupra 290 in the Black Friday sale. I'm reasonably DIY minded so anyone fitted one? Is it straightforward?
Any advice welcome! I've had the bumper off before so ok that far!!
David
I had mine done just the same at Awesome gti, and over the last couple of days things just improved all of a sudden at 360 miles. Much better feel and more like normal !! I will still take it a bit easy to 500 miles but great so far.
Black Friday deal done.
Bilstein B14 Coilovers (bought the KW cancelling kit too to stop any error messages)
Wagner Intercooler
Leyo Catch Tank Oil Management System
Leyo Billet Fluid Caps for engine bay
I will be adding some threads on here when parts arrive and the fitting begins
David
Thanks mate I'm enjoying doing the mods!! After all sorts of looking I've settled on the Bilstein B14 coilovers for the car. They need the KW cancelling kit so because this won't be in the Black Friday sale I've ordered it now.
So I reckon on Friday it's the shocks and the oil catch tank kit...
Not quite yet on the map - they don't do a rolling road thing because of the new clutch. If I go back once it's bedded in it can be done!
I'll post it here!
Trip to Awesome for remap / clutch complete. I have to run it steady for 500 or so town miles to bed the clutch in then it's time to try out the mods!
I picked up a couple of extra items while I was there...
Should keep me entertained for a while fitting these, either that or I can wait until...
Well folks I had 2 hours yesterday to spare before the sun went down over the horizon so I thought I would tackle the APR job.
Using the downloaded instructions I removed all the stock air intake and added the carbon parts. The job was easy and done in 1 hour.
Intake box and pipe clamped up...
Hi. I hope it won't make much noise to be honest. When I had my 2.0 tdi FR I had an open cone filter kit and all the huffing and puffing it did rattled my head in. It was just wierd!!
