It's a pig of a job due to the engine mount. I normally do my own belts but with the FR I took it to a specialist.
I'd go for genuine parts too, there's not much price difference if you can work a discount with the dealer.
I've had my FR coming up for 4 years now and it's been fantastic.
It's only covered 44K mind but has had 2 cambelt changes in that time due to age.
I've had a stage 1 map done on mine so it's up to around 190bhp and economy is superb.
Only issue I've had is the paint on the wheels starting to...
The EGR needs to be mapped out otherwise the ECU will be looking for a flow from it. This maybe what is triggering limp mode.
Take the blank out and get the codes properly deleted again using VCDS, not the £10 generic OBD devices sold on e bay. VCDS will tell you a lot more than they ever will...
I changed my CTS as I noticed my temperature flicker once or twice also I was struggling around the low 40s and always had done. CTS sorted it but go for the VW part not a copy.
Hi
After removing my drivers seat from my Leon 1M to remove the carpet I am left with an airbag light showing. I did need to move the car so it was started and driven with the airbag disconnected. Will vcds lite be able to reset this or do I need the full version? Thanks
Yes mate they share the same bar. I got one for my FR which was not listed and just needed an extra bit of bumper cutting. It was the same bar as as the Golf. Google PF Jones towbars they will have one listed.
Sounds like it's certainly the bung in the pillar.
Get the arch liner off and seal the bung before removing anything else, make sure it's clean before you fit it with silicon in the groove.
You may find that the FR is low enough. Mine is standard and some tyre places have to lift the car slightly to get the jack underneath.
Good luck with your search, don't seem to be that many low milers around.
Black is best IMO :)
Worth checking my post.
Sorry the pics have gone but if you pull the drivers side wheel arch liner out you will see the bung I'm talking about on the A pillar.

Stick your finger in the water leaking by the clutch pedal. If it's coolant you'll soon know it.
If it's using coolant and not losing it could well be the matrix
