Fluid may have possibly gone on to the clutch so you might have to change that aswell, try the slave and see how you get on with that first but just a pre warning that it could be a gearbox out job....in which case get a clutch kit as as that comes with it all :) fingers crossed! Sent from my...

Clutches are hydraulic, so id check the fluid level if it has suddenly dropped. Could be a sign that the slave cylinder or clutch master cylinder has gone/on its way out

Peugeot's usually suffer with this sort of stuff and it costs around 200-300 for a new stalk control, you're lucky you have a vag ;)

If it says link error then the code reader doesn't have the software to read the ecu. I'd advise taking it to another garage and getting another code reader put on and see what the brings up. does the car run smooth or is it a bit lumpy?

It could be the stalk control for the wipers? you can pick up a second hand one cheap and try. I would say its either that or the relay, and you've changed the relay so it would be worth giving the wiper stalk ago.

so I break down and the engine wont fire up, found a coil stick had burnt out and when that happens it also takes a fuse out to stop the engine firing. Good old Steve from the AA had one on his van!! TOP LAD!
