hello Bill, might have known you would be lurking around on here still. Hope business is good for you?
Sheps...no worries, glad to help
cupraSean....please dont arrange any meet at our place....car parking is rubbish and I only have 3 minutes available in the diary until 2014 ; )...
Thats me then : )
We are in Warwick indeed at the moment, we share the building with autotech and clarendon as I own Clarendon too. However things are all about to change again. I cant say too much yet but we may be moving Oscarli in to its own building because we have outgrown this one with...
Hello,
Just been pointed to this by one of our customers.
We (Oscarli) have recently been approached by a vehicle manufacturer with regards to making their vehicles illegal once they have been registered for road use. This was actually regarding the reduction of a chemical used on commercial...
i know, it was me who repaired it. To be honest it may happen again, the problem looks to be thru vibration, not water as first thought. I have resoldered and also secured the capacitor but ideally you need to have a spare/new ecu in case it happens again.
mid 40's is the guestimated figure I would put on it. Considering the 200+hp thats pretty good still. My old mk1 leon 1.9tdi would see high 40's at best but that was driving at 70mph on cruise control for some miles.
current vehicle is still a VAG diesel (very heavy T5 2.5tdi) but now seeing...
i would be very surprised at the near 70mpg too. Best way to accurately work it out would be on tank to tank fill and mileage covered. I suspect that the amount of work on the ecu software has seriously messed up the calibration on the mpg
a few things worth trying if you want to still fix the thing...
Remove every fuse in turn and try starting, if it suddenly bursts in to life with any removed then trace that particular circuit for the crimped/shorted/broken wire or faulty component.
Remove the plug to the forge DV...
Just to get back to the original problem. Did vagtech or the seat rep actually find the problem with the car yet? You just know this is going to turn out to be a simple fix. After all, no broken car is ever un-fixable. I guarentee that if I had the dealers resources (VAS, wiring diagrams, etc)...

see here, go to Adrian @ cooldiagnostics, he can do this for a fraction of the dealer costs, might mean a bit of a drive for you though?
Oscarli is my trading name. We only sell tuned software to the trade and dont really get involved in the retail side, a lot of our trade customers advertise and sponsor this and many other VAG websites so we dont really want to compete with our own customers, I hope that makes sense?
We are...
I dont think you can assume this engine will get the same gains as all the previous VAG TDI as this is already a slightly tuned version of the 140 with only small modifications in both sw and hw. I think VAG rushed this one out due to the competition from Ford/Honda/etc. Basically there is not...
I know of several remap companies not releasing software as they are struggling to get 15-20bhp gains. If you want to believe a plug in box can do a better job then its up to you. 34bhp is quite some claim on this car/engine
basicaly thats correct. No uprated IC will give you extra power unless there is an obstruction in the standard versions. Increased cooling will probably only retain the power that would have been lost due to a poor IC. In effect you get a wider power band. Forge never advertise any FMIC's with...
