Replacing steering wheel rotary volume control

I've successfully got the rotary volume control working again, just by using a squirt each end of the rotary control from a can of "WD-40 Specialist Contact Cleaner" which I purchased from Wickes, and then spinning the rotary control several times! Before this, except for the press to mute...

    Steering Wheel Volume Control Failure

I have an October 2013 SEAT Leon 1.8TSi DSG FR 5-door hatch, and the rotary volume control on the lefthand side of the steering wheel has failed. The pushbutton (mute) function of this control still works, but the rotary volume function does nothing. Does anyone know if I can repair or replace...

Best new tyres for SEAT Leon 1.8 TSI DSG?

Yes, that's correct, I live in the London area. Maybe I don't need all-season tyres? As most of my driving is in Greater London and the home counties, would I be better off just getting summer tyres?

Best new tyres for SEAT Leon 1.8 TSI DSG?

I need to purchase a new set of all year round tyres (not specifically winter or summer) for my October 2013 Mark 3 SEAT Leon 1.8TSi petrol DSG 5-door hatch in the UK. The tyre size and rating is 225/45R17 91W. My current tyres are the original factory-fit Bridgestone Turanza ER300, and I would...

1.8TSI DSG "Coolant Regulator Unit" Fault/Leak?

My October 2013 SEAT Leon 1.8TSi petrol DSG FR 5-Door has been displaying a permanent steady (not flashing) amber engine fault icon for the last week, with no indication of the type of fault in the status display, and no apparent symptoms when driving. The same fault indication occurred for...

    Virtual Cockpit/ illuminated door sills

SEAT UK's online configurator from today, now includes the Digital Cockpit option for £400 on all SEAT Leon FR and Xcellence models (but not on the X-perience models), but strangely enough, the new December 2017 pdf price list omits the Digital Cockpit from the option prices section, but does...

    Humming noise after engine off

I get exactly the same thing on my Leon 5-door FR 1.8TSi DSG petrol! Four years old today (the car, not me), and no problems! Still a brilliant car!

Does the DSG gearbox suit the 1.8 TSI engine?

I don't know, but yesterday I test drove a new VW Golf Mk7.5 R-Line with the new 1.5TSi 150PS petrol engine & DSG gearbox, & found the combination to be a bit jerky when starting up from stationary in 1st and 2nd gear - Not a problem I have at all with the 1.8TSi DSG combination. Apart from...

Does the DSG gearbox suit the 1.8 TSI engine?

I find I get fully predictable & linear delivery of torque & power from the 1.8TSi DSG combination throughout the rev range. If I'm being extremely super nit-picking, then there is an ever so slight flat spot at approximately 1200 rpm, but this has negligible real-life adverse effect, as below...

Does the DSG gearbox suit the 1.8 TSI engine?

In my opinion, based on owning a Leon Mk3 1.8TSi DSG FR 5-door since new in October 2013, the engine & 7-speed DSG gearbox are almost perfectly matched! A really great combination (at least in my opinion).

    1.8FR performance lag and absence

I've had a 1.8TSi DSG 5-door FR for nearly 4 years from new, and never experienced any of the problems mentioned in this thread. I've always found engine power and torque to be immediately available from stationary and at all speeds, with an almost completely linear and predictable response at...

Virtual Cockpit & New Petrol Engines?

Does anyone know exactly when the virtual cockpit (as available for the Audi A3 & VW Golf) will be available as an option for the SEAT Leon? I'm looking for a definite & accurate answer, rather than the vague & unsubstantiated references which have appeared from time to time in the motoring...

    2014 Leon SE iPhone issues

If you just need the connection to play music stored on your phone, you could copy your music files onto an SD card and plug this into the spare SD card socket in the glovebox audio unit. I find this works fine, and you can display the album/track artwork as well, providing the artwork picture...

Which Leon will suit me ??

If you want a petrol Leon with multi link rear suspension and bigger brakes, why not consider the 1.8TSi petrol version? I have a 1.8TSi DSG 5-door hatch FR, which I think is brilliant. The 1.4TSI 150PS petrol engine is really impressive and refined, but there aren't any Leon models combining...
