From the way UK customer service are speaking, that is not the case, as I never gave my vehicle type or reg in any communication with them... Mapcare in the UK appears to be in the too difficult pile - how much longer they think people will go on updating without knowing how old the data is...

A few weeks ago, I emailed customer service regarding the wildly varying costs of satnav updates and why some European countries have access to a one off fee "mapcare" and the UK does not. I also raised the point that some of the Voltswagen group get free updates and we don't... The response...

I was told at the time of purchase, "all map updates are foc", I questioned this and was told without question by my dealer, map updates are free for three years... Another case of dealers not singing from the same hymn sheet again...

Try hitting the car logo on the right of the screen, had this happen to me and appears to cycle through different modes inc North up, and direction of travel...

I have noticed the same noise around 60mph... Appears to be coming from passengers side windscreen area!

For those wondering, the base data for the maps is by Navteq and the current data is v2. Will be interesting to see how up to date the data is kept/frequency of updates.

Anyone know what mapping data/supplier Seat have used for the satnav? Also, how up to date is it? MY dealer said the data is updated every time the car is serviced, foc, but read elsewhere that someone had to pay£120 for new maps :S Many thanks Paul
