Today i took my last drive in my mk2. Been a fun 2 years, ripping the pish out of big German cars on the motorways. But, time to say fare thee well to it. Dropped it off at a volvo dealership, drove away in a 63 plate v40 r design in rebel blue.

Bugger that. I drive her everywhere, walk the dog, empty the bins and fetch stuff off high shelves in asda (I'm big, she's wee). Oh, and i give her good lovin. That's plenty.

Ah, righto! My mrs has more colourful ways of describing my car cleaning fetish. 'If you cleaned the house as much as you cleaned that bloody car........' yada yada yada. Once told a gay guy in my work i was obsessed with beading, his face lit up. Dunno what he thought i meant.......

Cheers again. Think i should clarify though (and not being cheeky, i really appreciate the input) I'm hip to how to valet and detail etc, just wondering if there are specific waxes and polishes that will make the paint look even better, just cos it's a kinda weird not really matte/almost pastel...

Cheers dude, ive got a big box full of valeting products myself, just nothing specific for non metallic paint. I like dodo juice profucts, had good results with them in the past, not sure which one would be best for this type of paint. The guy behind madcow recommended one of his own (obviously)...

I know you reckon it isn't the egr, but mine used to stutter if i was accelerating at around 60ish, just started kangarooing. There's a thread on here about an egr gasket with a smaller hole than standard (think it comes off an Ibiza) i fitted it to mine abd it never happened again. Gasket cost...

Not sure bud. I searched by my reg, something to do with the crank capacity or something? Whatever you do, don't get the lion brand one from euro car parts. They're cheap, and have a 3 year warranty, but apparently they're complete dross. Yes, I bought one.
