  1. New Ateca FR revealed

The Ateca has two systems, Autohold and the parking brake. They are different systems. That said, from my experience they are both totally automatic and just do what they are supposed to do. I have yet to activate/deactivate either system. It works perfectly under all conditions and with DSG...
  2. Hotter

There is a 190ps 2 litre petrol which is new to the Ateca. The version in the Leon Fr was 1.8l.
  3. New Ateca

True, but my point is that I can see no reason for delaying ordering an Ateca just to get the new engine.
  4. New Ateca

Judging by the road tests of the new Golf with the 1.5 engines, the performance is identical and the improvement in economy/CO2 is not significant.
  5. Petrol & DSG

I read recently that the new engine has been postponed for some time apart from the on new Golf. For example, the facelifted Leon due soon does not offer the new engine. The only reason you cannot have a DSG version in the UK is because, for some weird reason, SEAT UK didn't want it. If the 1.5...
  6. New Ateca

Yes, saw it over a week ago. It doesn't tell you anything you didn't already know apart from the fact that the paintshop has some matte paint! It's the usual Auto Express conjecture based on a few photos. Until they sort out the long delivery times (up to 7 months) they are not about to...
  7. New Ateca

Cupra ST sounds like an interesting option. Hopefully the facelift will add the clever tech that's on the Ateca. The ST is arguably the best looking Leon and it certainly doesn't look like an estate car.
  8. New Ateca

If you have a Cupra, then you are likely to be disappointed with the current engine options. The 190 TDI is a very heavy car compared to a Cupra. Best to wait until the Ateca Cupra comes out, but that is likely to be another 12 months and who knows what the delivery will be. I think you can...
  9. New Ateca

I agree about Audi extras. I specced up a Q3 with all the extras that I have ordered on the Ateca (which is most of them) and the price just went mad! There is really no reason (apart from profit) for overpricing the extras as the actual bits that make up the extras are 99% identical.
  10. The Ridiculous Fading Panel Lights

My auto lights are on medium setting. They work fine. I have never noticed the panel lights dim - why would that happen if you haven't got the lights on? We have loads of long tunnels here where not using your lights gets you a big fine. They have worked faultlessly for three years so far. If...
  11. What Options?

It's not a political debate - it is a fact of life now. SEAT UK pay for their cars in Euros and they will have to find more pounds to pay for them, and it is you, the UK customers who will have to pay extra to buy EU cars - whether you like it or not. That is one of the prices of Brexit.
  12. What Options?

It won't be long before you see a significant price rise. I am buying in Spain in Euros, but because of Brexit and the much lower exchange rate, it is costing me over £6000 more to convert the money from pounds.
  13. New Ateca

ACC can be used without DSG but Traffic Assist cannot as it will bring the car to a stop and start again which you can only do with DSG. The UK configuration does seem odd as it quotes £500 or so for ACC when it costs about £120 in Spain as Cruise Control is standard as it is in the UK. I...
  14. Spotted - White Ateca heading on the A52 into Notts

If the current high level of sales across Europe continues, even allowing for the fact that the 150 2WD cars have been removed from the price list until January, any decent deals will be a thing of the past!
  15. New Ateca

The front off road kit looks really good, but I'm not so keen on the rear one. The rear looks good anyway. Also, I understand that with that kit, the foot operated boot doesn't work.
  16. SEAT Ateca Owner's Register

Personally, I can't see the point of the Navi Plus unless you want a WiFi network for the kids in the back and like watching DVDs when parked. It does have a few clever bits if you really do go off road as opposed to driving across a muddy field, but I cannot see how it is worth the extra. Have...
  17. Delivery date

Some bad news. This was sent out this week. (translation from the Spanish original). Picked up from the Spanish Ateca forum. Communicated to the dealer network SEAT SPAIN August 24, 2016. Attn Manager / Sales Manager Subject: Press ATECA SEAT engines. Dear Dealers: We inform you that...
  18. What Options?

When I drove an Excellence on 19" wheels I found the road noise excessive. I will stick to the 18" machined alloy option. I think they look better, The 19" wheel design looks like beer bottles!
  19. Delivery date

I haven't ordered it yet. I don't really want it before the end of the year and that's not critical. At the moment I am thinking about waiting to see what engine options are coming. I have a 1.4tsi Leon and I am concerned that the extra weight will take the edge of the performance of the 1.4tsi...
  20. Delivery date

Well done! I think it's going to be some time before we see many on the road. What color have you got?
