  1. Who has more problems than my car

That sounds like real bad luck, and what we used to call a Friday car. My first 5k miles in my new FR were really spoilt by console rattles and vibrations, and reading the problems that so many members had with returning their cars to garages to fix, embarked to do to myself with blue tac...
  2. Stop start. Does it take its toll on components?

I am still after 2 years of motoring not really into the start/stop system. Ok I follow the philosophy behind it, and remember my trips to Switzerland over 30 years ago when we turned off our engines whist stopped at traffic lights....But does the stop start system now being fitted reduce the...
  3. Replacement of standard exhaust FR184

Hi Guys I was just wondering if anyone out there has fitted Seat's replacement exhaust and back bumper from their accessory list? Does the £1500 outlay provide a sporty exhaust note and look better than the stock twin pipe arrangement on the near side? I do feel that the FR should have a...
  4. DTUK Tuning Box Problems Leon 184 BEWARE

Interesting points made here, but I was just wondering whether DTUK have ever tested their tuning box on a Seat Leon ? All I see are their references to Skoda.
  5. DTUK Tuning Box Problems Leon 184 BEWARE

Just want to thank all you guys on your observations here. Last year I was questioning possible insurance issues on the forum, expecting DTUK to properly advise. The situation to remove the box before a service or before an up coming accident quite frankly seems ridiculous. Great to have more...
  6. Coming upto 1 year of ownership

I'm now into my 15th month with 15k+miles. Apart from the rattling console which really did put a downer on my new ownership, my FR184 has been great fun to drive. Still not having had an opportunity to really open it up, I find the grunt from around 2500-3500rev really amazing. On motorway...
  7. Kerbing the wheel at 50mph

Ahah.... that's what probably saved mine from being further damaged...I'm on continentals and they seem to have a lip and strong sidewalls
  8. Kerbing the wheel at 50mph

Absolutely!!....I did feel a complete t**t, having spent over a year successfully parking up and never touching the kerb, and no not with help of fold in mirrors...as they have never folded in on reverse Lesson learnt !
  9. Kerbing the wheel at 50mph

I came off very lucky on Friday. Travelling along the narrow lane of the A3 in the 50 mph restricted area, reaching down to deal with my heater controls I found myself having to take quick evasive action as I started to steer towards the kerb, the rim edge of the magnesium wheel hit it with a...
  10. Dash rattle and door cards

If fixed my rattling perspex cover to the speedo consol several months ago and have had no reoccurance since. Firstly I sprayed wd40 around the lower section and let it soak down between the Perspex face and trim. This helped by about 40% I the cut a small soft piece of black rubber to shape...
  11. DTUK tuning box

I believe I asked long way down this thread what affect the tuning box has on the insurance ? Fine taking it off before taking to a garage, but if involved in an accident there may be no opportunity.
  12. Broken high-level brake light lens - anyone else?

Bugger ! Just noticed mine's gone:cry:: the car is now 1yr old and just under 12k. Haven't really been at all pleased with the quality of finish....console creaks, chipping paintwork etc on this £23k car. Only the driveability and delightful engine compensates. The crack is just in the same...
  13. DTUK tuning box

Thanks for that, really seems encouraging. Will certainly give Andrew a call
  14. DTUK tuning box

Now with 11 k on my FR 184 diesel am very interested in having something fitted to give more punch to sharpen acceleration from lower speeds, been spoilt in past with two 7 ownerships and do really miss out and out acceration. So I guess the question is will a tuning box give me that, sorry I'm...
  15. Milltek System for 150 and 184 FR

Blimey ! This looks nice and maybe sounds nice too.. anything must be an improvement on the farty sound in sports mode. Certainly tempted. Has anyone had one fitted or knows more about it ?
  16. Adaptive Cruise Control - User Feedback

Yeh, I find it very handy on motorway speed restricted areas, through road works where there are average speed cameras. It's amazing how you have to keep checking the speed in the fr, quiet engine and eager to use its horses it's easy to exceed for flashing !!
  17. Rattles/squeaking noise in the door area

Rattles and squeaks FR184Leon This has been an on going problem since owning the car since Sept13, covering 7k miles , and partly spoiling my ownership of a new and what is a really well sorted car. BUT I have now sorted all the problems from around the dashboard by a long process of...
  18. less than 1 month old....

That's so nasty... There's some really jealous f***s out there. I hope you get it fixed really soon 100%. Don't let it spoil your excitement of owning this great car
  19. Lights for Europe

In September took mine to France and bought some very expensive stickies on the ferry. What a rip off..... could have used masking tape using the pattern on the light lenses. It did clip the beam off though to on coming drivers...:funk:
  20. Thin paintwork

Thanks guys for your replies and I will just have to keep my distance from that A3:rofl:.....no tailgating there !! lol ....
