  1. DGJ's Leon Cupra TDI - Staggered Rims, AP Coilovers, 312mm Brakes, Milltek Turbo-Back

About an hour away from me not too far. We've had about 5 different maps on the car just tweaking stuff about. Could throw in some more fuel in the right places and make 200bhp and more torque but I'm happy with how it goes to be honest as it's my daily car. Slight Bhp dip at 3300rpm ish...
  2. DGJ's Leon Cupra TDI - Staggered Rims, AP Coilovers, 312mm Brakes, Milltek Turbo-Back

Good progress mate did all that lot to mine about 8 months ago. i had removed the vac tank for a while on the previous turbo but since fitting the new one i checked my target and actual boost on vag com and found it low. refitted the vac tank and has improved it, A mate of mine does mapping...
  3. EGR Cooler delete ARL engine

The bosch injectors are reliable as anything so every diesel specialist or vag specialist tells me.... but about £1500 a set if they do go wrong! The problem with mine was the injectors had warn away at the head meaning the injector seals failed and neat diesel was running into the cylinders...
  4. EGR Cooler delete ARL engine

Brilliant job, yup that's pretty much exactly what I've done today. Removed the t piece from the return pipes to the bottle and used the longest hose out of the 3 to go from The bottle to the rail at the front of the engine. Ordered a 19mm barbed nylon joiner for the other pipes. I plan to...
  5. EGR Cooler delete ARL engine

Lol really? I've had it on there for 5 months. My mate who has a fabia VRS is just getting into custom mapping his own cars. He's mapped every diesel I've ever had but only with generic maps but now he has software to create and alter your own maps. We looked a the blacksmoke one and it only...
  6. EGR Cooler delete ARL engine

Cars already running a "blacksmoke" 182bhp remap with EGR turned off. Just still had the cooler there. Now I've removed the head and turbo seems stupid bolting that back on. Think I've got a spare joiner somewhere in my toolbox at work so will either do that or swap the pipes around. It...
  7. EGR Cooler delete ARL engine

Hi guys as some of you may have read the head is currently off my Leon FR 1.9PD150 ARL engine due to the injectors wearing the head away causing the injector seals to fail. I already have the EGR deleted completely from straight off the turbo and a Allard delete pipe with SFS boost hoses...
  8. SFS intercooler and pancake pipe TDI Problem ?

I'll have a look through the paper work and work out what ones they were. Their not available from seat you have to ring TPS and get them from there as their mostly from a 150pd passat or bora from memory
  9. DGJ's Leon Cupra TDI - Staggered Rims, AP Coilovers, 312mm Brakes, Milltek Turbo-Back

That's not a fun job I've done a few regulators in golfs and it's a pain in the arse. Stripped my injectors out with a guy who knows these engines better and they've moved about in the head and ****ed it so new head time :( How much was the exchange turbo in case I need one?
  10. Smoke when warm

Right we ripped it all apart this morning and I know exactly what the problem is. In short the injectors have been moving around in the head wearing grooves into it where the diesel enters the injectors from the head. The smoke is caused from the injectors no longer sealing against the now...
  11. DGJ's Leon Cupra TDI - Staggered Rims, AP Coilovers, 312mm Brakes, Milltek Turbo-Back

I've got massive smoke issues with mine at the minute nearly always white smoke I've got a thread about it. Have checked injectors etc but now it's looking like cam wear. The other day though it was blue smoking as well like the turbo was on its way out. I'll also be removing the turbo return...
  12. Smoke when warm

All I can think of is if it lost lift then presume that both valves wouldn't open as far causing lack I air in and out at idle till it's boosted resulting in smoke from unburned diesel?
  13. Smoke when warm

Right may be getting somewhere now. Removed the rocker cover today and thoroughly inspected. No signs of injector movement or lift or diesel leakage or chuffing etc. Injector bolts are nice and tight accross. However upon very close inspection of the camshaft the ends of the lobes are slightly...
  14. Smoke when warm

I can do anything just need to know how lol. I know about the 12 stretch bolts that need replacing, obviously the seals in the bottom. Injector loom is common, Are there seals where the fuel from the head goes into the injectors as well? If so they will also need replacing I presume. Once...
  15. Smoke when warm

Also I wouldn't be surprised if the turbo is on its way out as it's had overboost issues since I've had it but it doesn't cause overfueling or white smoke.
  16. Smoke when warm

I had the down pipe off about 4 days ago when I mr muscled the turbo and only soot in there no oil. Smoke stinks like overfueling or unburned diesel and you can see the particles wafting about in the smoke. Unless you've been Kaining the arse off it then you get a few puffs of blue. Not...
  17. Turbo cleaning without removing!

I've got 2 bottles of fortè turbo cleaner which basically goes into the fuel and once injected turns to a vapour that clings to the carbon built up on the turbo and softens it up. After it's softened it up through idling for 40mins you go for a blat and it all frees up and falls off. (In...
  18. Smoke when warm

Had 2 other mechanics who have had a bit more dealings with PD engines look at it quick and neither know what's up with it. Tonnes of white smoke but not filling up oil with diesel or using oil, not loosing water or pressurising coolant and injectors appear within spec on data list.... Our...
  19. Smoke when warm

Oil is 5w40 fully synthetic Morris Lubricants as I get it free ;). Exactly what we were supplied for use in 2.0PD engines at Mitsubishi. This eve I changed the fuel filter and ran till warm there was hardly any blue smoke but back to tonnes and tonnes of white smoke again. Plugged it in...
  20. Smoke when warm

Sounds fun, lol I've got prices on turbos and they ain't cheap... Trade price from factors to me is £550-650 for a brand new one which isn't even a garrett so pattern one. Or recon ones for £100 less. Much better off going for a hybrid I think. However I've spoken to a diesel specialist I...
