    Manifold/turbo blowing

Can't help you with any tips or tricks cos I'm useless but make sure it's not the egt probe worked loose as happened to me once. Would save you a lot of hassle. It's round the back there somewhere.

Looking at buying a cupra r with high miles

I wouldn't be too concerned. What year is it? Even if it's a 2005, it's 12 years old so about average mileage for the year. Check when the timing belts been done though. The only thing I would say though and it goes for any car of this age, things can and do come up and on any particular car...

    Custom exhaust and warning lights.

Agreed, should be fine. I have a sport cat as well but only realised/remembered from reading this thread that when I do trackdays or go to Germany I put a decat on and can get a bit lazy to put the cat back on but have never had the light on.

    Considering high mileage remap LCR225

Can only go by my own experience really. Had the car since 91k and now on 106k. After I bought and fitted the hardware and then got it mapped I've been to the Nurburgring 3 times and castle combe 3 times as well. The car takes a beating on track that cannot be replicated on the road. I will...

VI gauge or liquid Leon gauge, which ones better??????

Just underneath your ashtray is your obd port. Liquid gauge just plugs into it. If you need to use your obd port for anything it's important to remember your code for the liquid gauge otherwise it won't work. Have had to send an email asking for the code myself a couple of times:whistle:

Black LCR 1M stage 2. nurburgring!

Take the old vent out and put this in. Only thing you need to do is put a hole round the back to feed the wire to your obd port. Not hard and instructions are included.

Black LCR 1M stage 2. nurburgring!

So castle Combe was this last Friday. Had an awesome day on track. A duel with a mates 850 t5 with im guessing about 320-330 bhp, coilovers, AP brakes and a plated diff with semi slicks. I have the video of him chasing me, in fact it's his video and it's the same guy I had fun with at the...

Black LCR 1M stage 2. nurburgring!

Hi, beechey, thanks. For the Nurburgring photos I always go to https://www.ringportal.nl/en/photography and check the dates I was there. Be aware though your eyes will get a bit of a workout as you scroll through thousands of photos. I didn't really scroll through all of them this year, just...

    Attending a Trackday?

You're not being thick, I'm probably overplaying the shredding bit tbh but my experience of taking a car on track with road tyres is that the grip is average at best, they rapidly overheat and then melt. I also wouldn't believe the hype about a new tyre so much. With tyres, it's all about...

    Attending a Trackday?

Personal thing but on this car I'm leaving the bonnet insulator in. On a previous car, think it was my Volvo 850 t5, I had it off but the bonnet would get hot and then steam on rainy days. Actual smoke would come off it. Did allow more engine noise to come through though. Wrt tyres, I've heard...

    Attending a Trackday?

I'm sure you have far far more knowledge then me but in my mind more boost equals more heat. Never really had an issue with fluid though, rbf660, carbotech xp12s and tt rs brake ducts. I tend to find the pedal goes slightly longer early on but then stays the same regardless of how much stick...

    Attending a Trackday?

You'll probably melt those tyres. Castle Combe probably isn't the best track for a novice (not much run off) and has 25% of uk track accidents at i think quarry corner. Going there on Friday:D I'd personally not do brands Indy again, it's such a smal track and you're always catching...

    Brakes fading

I've used carbone Lorraine rc5+ on a previous car and they were good. Nasty dust though. On the Cupra I've had standard but oe brembo discs and ds2500s. They were ok, didn't get any fade at the ring or even castle Combe but they did leave pad deposits and got grumbly. Since then I've used...

    Newbie! Mk1 Cupra R

Must do upgrade imo is a rear anti roll bar. Other then that I've read of people having issues with the split r but if you're not then all good. With how old the car is (I've got the same) I'd just go through the car and renew stuff that needs doing, bushes, suspension and stuff. Oh and have...
