As far as I can work out the ecu either needs the egr circuit remapping out or you'll need to re fit the egr system to get the light to turn off and stay off....or tell the buyer why the light is on and show them if you've got a fault code reader.....

It's a bit of a fiddly pain in the a$$ but worth doing if it gets it all working, mine was just wierd, apart from the hose I popped off that morning there was nothing wrong with it but after I'd checked all the joints and a gentle pull on the pipes to make sure they weren't trapped everything...

It's not hard to find, supply side comes out of a loom and the side it connects to goes into the bulkhead on its own just to the left of the brake pump (well on the diesel it does!) I used a wet and dry vac to suck the snot out of mine at both ends to make sure it worked...and it did!

Fixed! I had popped the join under the airbox this morning, and while it was apart I put a vacuum on the end of the pipe and got some snot out of it at both ends and the rear wash now works....yay Thanks for all the suggestions guys and the guide on you tube it was all most useful...and if my...

Is there an easy way to get to the window washer pump on my fr? I have no rear washer and the pressure is low on the passenger side washer jet so figure the pump must be a bit naff... Unless someone knows another reason for my little problem?? If there's not an easy way, what's the best...

I'm not too sure you can as the pressure they work at is v high and can be lethal if skin is nearby, there are normally injector specialists locally that can test them for you (for a fee I'm afraid) and if there's a problem they can fix it.

Did you do something to it just before it started doing it? It could have a blocked injector... Could be a million things but always best to start with simple cheap stuff!

Seems to work ok, I've got it running on my old windows xp NetBook, it seems to read all the modules in the car, interrogates each on its own, displays any faults along with any other details you may need, not had much chance to play but it all seems ok so far

Ah, bit far from me otherwise I'd have plugged it in for you, have a look online for a German car specialist near you and give them a tinkle, they may plug it in and read the faults for a couple of beer tokens and if the fault is current at least they can tell you what it is..

The only system that will talk to a merc properly is a merc star system, all merc dealers have them, most merc (and for that matter German car) specialists have them, or even if you have a smart specialist in your area, they'll most likely have one too! Not much help on a bank holiday weekend...

My cars obd socket had this unit above it According to the diy cruise control thread that's a 6q2 unit which can't have cruise added but according to vagcom it's a 6q0 (or am I reading it wrong?) So can I fit cruise at a later date? HELP!
