I ran a HVAC test on VCDS earlier today, and found that during the 'temperate control flap test', it oscillated between very hot air and outside air. I am now confident that the temp sensor is faulty and I have ordered a replacement. Will update once fitted. *fingers crossed*

See if you can plug it in to VCDS to find any faults. Sounds really odd though! In the mean time, get some duct tape and cover up the sensors ;)

James, follow the boost hoses that connect to your charge pipe all the way down and around to the intake manifold - checking at each connection to make sure nothing has come loose.

Thanks - sounds like a good possibility however I have not seen / heard of that specific part before. Do you have the name for it? Maybe a part number? If the matrix was blocked, would both pipes be hot or just one?

If these are the ones you talk about, then they are both hot but the left one is hotter.

The water pump was changed, along with all pulleys, tensioners, bolts etc all with genuine VAG parts from TPS. As VAGTech are specialists, I assume the coolant system was changed and bled properly. The car was loosing coolant before the cam belt change was done.
