  1. Tyre change time

Only thing I learnt from a previous experience is that installation will cost way more than the £9 difference taking mail ordered tyres to any local fitter. Iirc Camskill are just supply unless you're local to them?
  2. Tyre change time

Just before I hit the order button on Blackcircles just wanted to get a few opinions :) The OEM Bridgestone tyres are down to 3mm now and the recent snow confirmed just how useless they are grip-wise. Slipping all over the place even in the dry and absolutely hopeless once the white stuff came...
  3. Next Seat Leon will be first to get 'industry-leading' VW Group cabin tech

Sounds less useful than Android Auto is now, don't like the idea of making the car a separate connected entity as it's just another way they can charge you (for the extra data contract) Waze more useful than Google Maps? Not for me (Google own them anyway ironically). Reminds me a bit of what...
  4. Digital Dash

Thing is unless you got wireless charging you'll have a dead phone by end of the journey if it's not plugged into USB power
  5. Next Seat Leon will be first to get 'industry-leading' VW Group cabin tech

Although hidden handles are better I still wouldn't want the frumpiness of the added length of car, read window pillars, shut lines etc. Doesn't appeal to someone who doesn't need the "family" practicality. Already having those "what do I get next" thoughts although I'll be keeping my FR for...
  6. Next Seat Leon will be first to get 'industry-leading' VW Group cabin tech

Indeed, as much as I love Android Auto (again SEAT had it very early on) it turns into a brick when the 4G signal drops. Can't see how any connected system won't suffer the same as all the speech recognition is done in the cloud. If signal drops and I can't change music track I swear at it...
  7. Next Seat Leon will be first to get 'industry-leading' VW Group cabin tech

3-door to be dropped?! Goodbye SEAT then, can't call yourselves sporty if all you're going to offer is 5-door family hatches.
  8. Recommendation for 18" tyres

The Bridgestones are utter crap, I'm down to 3mm on mine now so time to replace I reckon. No grip on them in the dry and definitely no grip in the recent snow either, can't believe they're so bad for a "premium" brand. Pilot Sport 4 looks to be the ones when I get them replaced. On my other...
  9. Dash Cam

Yup it actually mounted exactly in the two mounting holes in the passenger side cut-out. Hmm could be worth a try that
  10. Tyres for 18" Performance alloys?

Having hit the 10k mark (booooo) recently the OEM Bridgestones are beginning to get to replacement time (yaaaay) so was wondering in 2017 what the recommended replacements are? Found the Bridgestones to be very poor grip putting power down so won't be sad to see them go even if the...
  11. Dash Cam

Interference with the radio seems to be a problem for me at the moment, from what I read it's the 12-5v converter causing it? Which ones are people using that don't affect DAB reception?
  12. Photo of FR with skirts & spoiler added

    Skirts and spoiler?
  13. Android Auto - which phones ?

HTC One M8 worked OK - best on latest Android update Marshmallow but slightly slow to load HTC 10 works perfectly using USB C cable and lightning fast
  14. DIY hardwire dashcam installation

Mini 0805, no better without the GPS mount :( Next would be swapping the 12v-5v unit for a cigarette lighter adapter as I read elsewhere those cause a lot of EMI
  15. Photo of FR with skirts & spoiler added

That's exactly it, damn I want those now, looks spot on :funk:
  16. Photo of FR with skirts & spoiler added

I had a test drive of another FR a while back and noticed it had the optional skirts and spoiler fitted that looked really good. However it was a different colour and spec to mine so before I splash the cash was wondering if anyone has a pic of one identical to how I'd have mine... Candy...
  17. DIY hardwire dashcam installation

Think I had a false sense of security with the rubber seals as every other car I've worked on they come off and go back on really easily (MG ZR, Volvo C30, Focus, Fiesta, Mazda2 etc.) Managed to get most of it back into place with the aid of a rubber mallet but it doesn't sit as nicely as it did...
  18. DIY hardwire dashcam installation

Tried this today for my dashcam, no trouble getting the panels off but having a lot of aggro getting the door seal to sit back properly afterwards, any ideas?
  19. Would you buy another?

Has the rear light issue but otherwise OK. No rattles or anything like that fortunately. Voted yes as I like the car but I don't ever replace a car with the same model so it'd either be a Mk4 or something different entirely. One gripe is with lack of dealers, my local one closed recently...
  20. Refitting door rubber seals help!

Just gone outside to fit my dashcam and tried the usual method I always do... 1) pull back door seal rubber 2) prise up A-pillar trim 3) push cable inside trim and along headlining Had a struggle getting around the seal on the Leon then on refitting noticed there's some stupid metal...
