  1. Overheating after changing thermostat

Id try ordering a genuine thermostat from dave at sere motors or a seat dealership. Thermostats can be a right pain in the arse if they arent genuine parts, but first pull it out, stick it in a pan of cold water and put it on to boil, if it opens up then its fine if not then you know what your...
  2. Overheating after changing thermostat

If you turn the fans on hot inside the car and you only get cold air then you're mire than likely looking at a new water pump, had the same problem on a mondeo where it wouldn't heat up at all, I changed the thermostat and coolent then the missus drove it to work and it just started overheating...
  3. Coolant level going up and down?

I would try changing your filler cap on the radiator, it works as a pressure relief at around 15psi, when the pressure hits this it vents the excess coolent (expanded liquid from heat) into the expansion tank via the relief pipe so if its seized shut the pressure cannot escape the radiator and...
  4. Leak on washer bottle.

Empty the washer bottle, dry the area with a hair dryer/ heat gun or just let it dry naturally and use some silicone, mould resistant would be best. Its not a permanent fix but it should do for a while until you can replace it...

Thanks, yeah ive heard that, I would have gone aftermarket if it wasnt free but not going to turn down a freebie :) think ill go for it next time though as the torque is far too high for a standard clutch. See how long it lasts though! Thanks for the advice though :D
  7. Helllllpppppp

Good stuff! Sounds like a right blast to be honest, ill be sure remember this when I come round to servicing mine! Damn thats pretty bad, well looks like strap wrench is the only way to go, they are great, I used to use them on JCB's to get the oil filters off them and they work a treat! What happened to the good old days of jamming a screw driver through a filter and turning it if it wouldnt move :) you...

Wow thats really stuck on there isnt it! I know its a long shot but if you dont need the car immediatly, you could try draining the oil out of the sump, releasing a hose under the housing (I havent looked if there are any :/ ). That way if there is an air lock inside the housing that could be...
  12. Size isnt everything?

Paint it black! Looks cooler and you get better heat transfer, avid follower of mighty cars mods on youtube and they mythbusted it and to everyone's suprise there was a 71 degrees C difference in air temp just by painting it black! Colder air = more oxygen = more boost! ;)
  13. Where do I start?

Plenty of tips on the internet/youtube bud, ammo nyc on you tube has some great tips for it and he works on anything from mercs to veyrons so hes pretty damn good at detailing. But an dual action polisher and a compound is when you need, if youve never machine buffed before make sure you dont...

Just want to say hey to you guys, as im new to the forum and the world of SEAT. Not long since i got myself a beauty of a 2008 pre-fl 2.0L Leon FR, spotted her in a sorry state (bird crap, human slime, rubbish, suspicious stains etc.) 4 weeks ago at a stealerships and knew she was the one...
