Clicking / Knocking on Skoda Rapid Spaceback steering

One of my Toledos had an occasional steering wheel click. It went away, unlike the creak from the front left corner, another of those manufacturing issues the dealers couldn't ever solve, like the poor window and door seals, badly fitted hatchback, doors that filled with water, zero lumbar...

Is stop start linked to climatronic settings?

Hi. I havent looked for SEAT yet, but here is a link to the May 2014 Skoda Rapid Manual https://manual.skoda-auto.com/004/en-com/Detail?model=Rapid_NH&edition=05-2014&market=&manualLang=en

Is stop start linked to climatronic settings?

The first 6 months I had the AC mostly set to windscreen, and that kills the stop start as shown above. The list of factors effecting stopstart is in the Skoda Rapid manual but not the SEAT Toledo version. For all the stopstart naysayers... It saves me 6% of fuel costs doing mixed B road / A...

Clicking / Knocking on Skoda Rapid Spaceback steering

You're better off on Briskoda. I've been on both since 2013 and there has never been any interest at all in the Toledo Mk4 over here. And its a cheap car when all's said and done. Although the build quality clearly improved over the years, it rattles and creaks and whistles from brand new -...

    Unusual alloy wheels

They were an option on the S, which people only bought because it was cheap as chips (so why spend 300 or more quid extra) That's why they're rare. The SE came with a different 16 Alloy as standard or an Optional 17.

Updating the inbuilt Mib2 Satnav / Mib2 tricks and Mib1

Great thread. Just relearned how to do it again after 2 years. Having just spent 1000 on repairs to the car I'm glad to have found something free. ...and added a recent free speedcam DB to it as well. thanks again

Re scrap Xcellence. The newer seats are much nicer. Better materials, but also a bit more lumber support. The original seats could be uncomfortable on long runs. The Head Unit is I believe incompatable with the pre 2015 cars. Most of it lives in the glove box with just a touchscreen front and...

What else can I think of? It's got Bluetooth for media and phone. It's got height adjust in both front seats. It was cheap and I really liked it. So I had another😀

Loads more info at Briskoda than here. It's the same car as the Skoda Rapid apart from a few exterior panels.

Slight modding is possible using tools like Carista. Locks, lighting , Dash etc can all be customised. The Nav RNS315 is OK but I couldn't add Speed Cameras to it like I have done to the newer MIB set in my newer Toledo.

Reliability. The 1.2 has a chain. The chain problems on that engine are supposed to have been eradicated years before. The turbo and actuator problems were also last recalled in 2012 too, but on my 2014 both had to be replaced at 26000. I regret sticking with the variable service regime (18000...

Engine great. Ride a bit jiggly. Handling, quite meh, rubbish compared with the Ibiza V or Leon III. Try and press on through bumpy S bends and you'll see😉. The body flex is almost like a convertible. Build quality. Well Skoda had started to improve it by 2014, but a few rattles & draughts are...

    LED headlight retrofit

I had a 14 1.2. Its a much better driving car than my 18 1.0. The smaller engine is awful in comparison. Should never have traded it.
