  1. Gearbox Mainshaft Bearing Plastic?

You wont get that out without opening the gearbox up. Prob around £300-£400 to fix, provided the bearing is reasonably priced! Might be worth looking for a second hand box.
  2. Carbon fibre parts

Its bloody addictive, i done my entire firestorm, only set out to do the hugger.lol and the missus got her wing mirrors done too, she wasn't impressed!! If you get good at it, you could defo make a few quid, your not Gona make a million, but anything is better than nothing.
  3. Carbon fibre parts

You can buy dipping kits and do it yourself, the process is called hydrographic dipping, its relatively straight forward and cheap, if your doing small parts like engine covers etc. Have a look, endless possibilities. And a nice sense of achievement when it turns out spot on!!lol.

Yeah, I overlooked that little fact, Mk5 golf. In that case, im out!! No idea.
  5. Telling turbo from picture ko3 or ko4?

I'm not sure about the golf turbos but on the Cupras the k03 turbos have a 4 bolt connection for the downpipe and the k04 have 3. So if the same turbos are used in the golf and seat set up that my be one quick way to tell!

  7. Rev's

Yeah, there are quite a few possibilities mate, try get your hands on someone with vag-com in your local area and check for codes. No point spending more than you need too if a fault is present. Also its also a good idea to have a look for split boost/vac pipes anyway. Let us know how you get on.
  8. Locks operating when starting car

Dodgy battery more than likely the cause, try changing the battery and see if that helps!
  9. Rev's

Could be a few things mate, possibly a small boost leak, or in my case it was caused by a faulty clutch control switch. Both pretty simple and inexpensive to sort out. Id start with those first.
  10. Leon Cupra R 225 Potential boost problem?

I wouldnt say 26psi was too high for a remapped Cupra R, a standard map boosts about 14psi, unfortunately if you manually try to decrease or increase boost it will send your car into limp mode as the ecu will detect the changes in requested boost against actual boost and cut power because it...

  13. Ecu swap

Theoretically yes, if the immobiliser has been removed and the doner ecu has the same part number as the one its replacing! however proceed with caution, even with all the necessary mods it does not mean your car will run well! You might as well be using a generic map. Most people would have a...

  15. Help!!!

All I said was a suggestion that he might have oil seeping past the seal on the turbo and it could be a reason for the oil INSIDE his boost pipe. He has oil leaking from a split breather pipe, not a main oil feed pipe. Its not gona do much harm other than limp mode and a dirty engine bay! But I...
  16. Help!!!

I seen the oil on the pipes when the op posted the pics, but he was asking how the oil got into the intercooler pipe, not on the pipes! I just assumed he knew he had a split pipe somewhere. So I take it going by d.mccarthys post a certain amount of oil or at least residue will be found in the...
  17. Help!!!

Thanks not normal mate so don't listen, your pipe has split and oil is pissing out of it, the throttle body will have carb on it, you have oil there's a massive difference, your loosing oil plus blowing blue smoke Which pipe would have split to allow oil inside the intercooler/boost pipe?
  18. Help!!!

Not that I can think off, your intercooler pipes run from the compressor side of the turbo to your intake manifold, I don't believe oil can get in anywhere else but from the turbo! but there are alot of more switched on guys here who will correct me if im wrong.
  19. Help!!!

I think everyone suffers from oil where it shouldn't really be, but my best guess is the oil seal on your turbo is allowing a little bit to get forced past it!
