If you have not already mastered it then you wont need to take out the glove box as it will be easier to feed the cable from the engine bay into the car then go into the foot well and pull it through then feed it as you need to mate

Have you checked the inner arch? it could have come loose and is rubbing on the tyre? Is the car lowered or standard height? if it is and you have had new tyres recently it could catch?
