It’s the stickier rubber picking up the grit. Your 1 series probably has bald tires all jokes aside, that’s the reason why. It’s throwing it against plastic arch covers.
Its the plastic clips just become loose. Have to remove the unit and heat the clips to re-position them to hold the unit closer.
Easier option: just mount foam either side, that'll cure the problem
It's not a mechanical diff it's an electronic one using XDS to control the front and rear using a haldex centre differential. (A really good system none the less)
I think you're mistaken, the 290 estate does feature the 2 silencer setup of the 3-5dr
On another note, the ecu file could be obtained by borrowing a 290 for the day to get their ecu log
The owner of this thread has removed the middle silencer in place for an pipe. Perhaps he'll be able to shed some light, even though it's an Ibiza but with the same engine.

Bearings usually whine, however it wouldn't be the case if it only occurs at 15-20 mph. I'd suggest it's the brakes whirring which is often the case with performance brakes; could even be an over-compressed caliper.
