    MirrorLink/FullLink

The 2015 model year (MY2015) like I used to own only had Mirror link, from MY2016 (June 2016) on it was improved, I missed it by about 4 weeks was May 29TH 2015 onwards build date off the top of my head, it went from MIB1 to MIB2 units i think!

2018 Leon 2.0 TSI DSG Cambelt or chain?

You can't beat the official Seat service manual but this is always a good reference https://www.honestjohn.co.uk/advice/timing-chain-or-cambelt/#

For ref 12 months ago they charged me £150 less than Seat for the cambelt & water pump.

Servicing after less than 3k in a year?

So I've booked it in at the specialist I use. He agrees not really worth it or necessary but will look better for the next owner/buyer! I'm picking up another 'swedish Vectra' on Friday so looking like the Leon with be going...

Servicing after less than 3k in a year?

In 21 years I've never had a car use oil between changes, petrol or diesel. The 20k change came about when VAG and many other brands did two year servicing. Then customers got concerned cars weren't going to the garage for two years and the dealers weren't making money on those 'extras' I know...

Servicing after less than 3k in a year?

The oil is not exactly dirty, for a diesel, soon goes grey unlike a petrol. Doesn't use a drop between changes either. Longlife oil is rated at 20k, that's what my Leon has in it now. However as you say at £20 a go it's not exactly expensive! My daily commute is 30 miles each way at motorway...

    MIB1 to MIB2 upgrades

All I can remember is when an update came out I had the older model which meant it couldn't have the update to AA and ACP. I'll fish out the part no...

    MIB1 to MIB2 upgrades

I was gutted when after a few weeks of picking up my Leon in May 2015 the next model year (MY2016) went to the MIB2 units with more features. Missed it by 6 weeks 🤦 I have the Nav high unit with Mirror link only, but it does have the upgraded sound at least! (I think that's the MIB1 - it's been...

Servicing after less than 3k in a year?

Think I might. My specialist charges £102 so at least it's better than the main dealers, probably half that for oil and filter from Euro or TPS if I do it myself. The Saab is all home serviced. My 9-3 is a 2007 before the exterior door handles were borrowed from Vauxhall on the facelift. So not...

Servicing after less than 3k in a year?

Your thoughts please.. Not entirely due to Covid by my Leon has only covered 2870 miles in the last year, is it even worth while getting a service done? I put most miles on my other car now. It's 6 years old and now on just under 49k 184 TDI DSG Had it's cambelt etc done at 5 years, with a...

HUGE Panel gaps after a repair

God alive, as it was said above the easiest thing is for them to compare to another car! It's not rocket science. Sadly these things are only as good as the person doing the job and their knowlege and skill. This reminds me of when I had a Golf and they did some work at VW main dealer Bodyshop...

    RVC reversing camera installed

Looks identical to what I fitted. You need a filter if taking signal from reverse cable. Power comes via that/the headunit, so I THINK that's it . Check TPS for genuine prices, sometimes they suprise me. Make sure any difference of facelift/pre facelift.

Cupra 300 ST DSG and Haldex servicing

I agree. So the pump adapts one way and not the other...a design fault Learn procedure is VCDS only? Quite capable of doing this myself otherwise and knowing it would be done properly. Had to chicken out of a fuel filter change because of the fear of an airlock with VCDS. I am considering...

Cupra 300 ST DSG and Haldex servicing

This is what I m trying to figure out, many many online DIY guides on Youtube and the net but not one says to do the learn function?! Only by VCDS i gather? While as this specialist says it must be done. But if the learn function was done when it was new or last time it was filled with new oil...
