  1. New seat owner

Not sure how true this is but I once read that the wiper movement is to flip the rubber on the blade onto its opposite edge periodically, to prevent it sticking to the glass if not used for a while
  2. Options affecting Leon lead times

    That's the spirit! :D
  3. Rear bumper removal

  4. beware keyless entry owners!!

OR.. a much cheaper investment with a similar effect: Buy yourself a £4.95 spare key fob from eBay. Leave it in plain sight in your house, near the door. Hide the real key. Let the thief come in and leave with the dummy key and watch them try and open the car. 9/10 they're not going to...
  5. MY18 Build week 45-on updates

Is is already showing on the German configurator for the non-Cupra models. Really hoping it comes over to UK soon.
  6. Camshaft

Glad to hear the repairs went well and you're back on the road.
  7. Fitting rear parking sensors

I'll post another photo later of the whole bumper removed, which I didn't originally post in the parking sensor fitting thread... Might make things clearer
  8. Camshaft

Without getting tied up in semantics, there is a recall on it; just of a different type, which not being classified as a safety issue means that DVSA don't get involved. It would have been picked up at the next service but I find it bizarre that SEAT were not proactively contacting owners who...
  9. Camshaft

If the pulley didn't get as far as failing like mine did, I think they're right that replacement of the pulley and associated parts is sufficient. I would be asking them to check and confirm that there is no valve/piston damage though. My failure, and the other ones seen on forums like the...
  10. Camshaft

There's some pictures of the carnage here (not my car; this one's an A3): http://www.volkswagenforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=22449&page=2&p=97417&viewfull=1#post97417 Thankfully in your case it sounds like they've caught it before failure so should just a require an upgrade of the pulley.
  11. Camshaft

Exactly the same as mine. 1.2TSI. It's now 3.5 years old but failed at approx 2.5 years old (21k miles).
  12. Camshaft

See my nightmare with this issue here: http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=425043 I also didn't receive a recall notice; I assume because they don't classify it as a safety issue, but since mine dumped all its oil on the road and forced me to get the car off a fast road very...
  13. Fitting rear parking sensors

Can't image what that might be. Is it the ST (estate) model?
  14. What to do next?!

Just wanted to say the car looks ace. No idea what you should do next :)
  15. Fitting rear parking sensors

Yes. The same loom passes up over the rear wheel arch of the car, inside the bodywork (nearside IIRC). It was the blue/black wire on my 2014 SE. See my thread from a while back here: http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=419741 I think it's in the guide somewhere but I lost a lot...
  16. removing the drivers door card

I always buy a set of these before even starting on the door card: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/10PCS-For-VW-T5-Transporter-2003-ON-Door-Panel-Card-Trim-Clips-Interior/172820101284?hash=item283ce178a4:g:sjEAAOSwAJFZ4QjN I'm careful but don't think I've ever managed to get the panel off...
  17. Removing sun visor - no screws

Yes I did manage to sort it in the end. The short answer is that there are no screws and the pivoting side of sun visor does just pull out of the hole, but there is a very awkward (and strong) clip holding it into the roof. SEAT have a special flat two-pronged tool to reach into the clip...
  18. Arrived home on a recovery truck tonight :-(

Hi all, Watch out - I'm back on the road...with a new cylinder head! Done about 50 miles since collecting it and seems to be running very well now, although I'm going easy on it while it settles in. Thanks for the advice and support - hopefully I was just unlucky and not too many people...
  19. Arrived home on a recovery truck tonight :-(

    Mine is a MY2014
  20. Arrived home on a recovery truck tonight :-(

Not at this stage I'm afraid. Maybe when I get the paperwork from collecting the car and if so I'll post it up. A dealer should probably be able to recognise it as "camshaft adjuster pulley" though, I should think.
