I am looking to replace the air filter on my LCR but I can't find the answer to my exact criterea query when searching. I have narrowed the choice down to either a replacement green cotton panel filter (but I won't be smoothing the inside of the airbox) or a green cotton dynatwist induction...

Have noticed there seems to be a bias towards green cotton induction kits/filters over K&N on SCN. Looking at kits for my mk3 tdi, are they more popular for a reason? never heard of Green cotton before I joined SCN.

just bought a used green panel filter which i'll clean prior to fitting. do i need to disconnect the maf hose prior to fitting or does the lid of the airbox come off without having to touch this? if there is any crap in the airbox is it safe enough to give it a quick hoover? cheers,
