It really isn't too dear. It's not cheap, but it's by no means too expensive.

Tracking will need to be done though.

I put Cupra bushes in mine and it took pretty much all day, it's hard work. Best way to do it IMO is to get the wishbones off and then press the new bushes in with a vice. But as I say, tracking will need doing as you've had the wishbones off completely.

Yeah ive seen it mate , just thinking of an alternative tool rather than the spacers and bolt method :)

No, you couldn't it the issue is space I started off with bigger diameter spacers than the guide as I had some knocking around, but they fouled on the sub frame. I had to chop bits out of them. You also need to be able to push the bush 10-15mm inside the subframe.

If you removed the subframe from the car you could use that vice! depends how much faffing around you wish to do.

Edit: that price is about standard

That's the right kind of thing but I don't think a 6" maximum opening is enough, sounds to me like it might be slightly small.

There is a specialist tool to do them on the car but the cheapest I've seen it for sale at is £115, so you may as well just take the wishbones off if you're doing it yourself.

The spacer and bolt thing on Briskoda is an interesting idea but I didn't know of that when I did the job. :(

Think i might just send her to get it done then as il have to drop the subframe anyway because i have an 1.2 azq engine and the sump sits in the way of the wishbone bolt (clever design !)

think mine was around £100 and i supply the parts and that was a backstreet garage so £120 from a vag specialist seems fair enough.

as mentioned dont forget the tracking afterwards as i managed to ruin a pair of tyres by not getting mine done!!

They were gonna charge me £ 50 for a 4 wheel alignment , too expensive so gonna get it done after I replace the hub bearing

Sorry to sound a bit harsh, but, in my experience, £50 for a PROPER four wheel realignment is not too expensive - you can be looking at an hour's work on a specialised bench operated by someone that is a trained operator.

I dont think im too send her just yet . Im going to replace the bottom ball joint as ive inspected all the bushes and joints today today when i put my steelies on for winter , and noticed that there is a split in the ball joint and its leakin grease + rear wishbone bush has been recently replaced as theres copper grease on the back of the pinion and its a different bush to the drivers side , its all because my suspension is knocking on the passenger side i bought the car like it. do you think the lower ball joint could be the problem rather than the wishbone bushes ?
