£500 to repair!

Just been to seat I've been quoted £500 to repair the doors that don't open correctly but they won't explain exactly the problem they said its a part that I can't buy else where and it's not a full piece it's a bit that isn't ment to be taken apart.

Would it be the lock mechanisms? I'm just lost on what to do really.
Can anyone help or give guidance please

If they won't tell you exactly what work they are charging £500 for, try elsewhere. As far as I am aware, all VAG parts are available via TPS so any garage can repair or replace it.

Ok I'm going to collect it shortly I'll confront them and ask them what it is that's ACtualywrong. Frustrating h unhelpful they are.
It can't be 2 many differnt things can it?

If its a part ask them for the part number, a quick google search will show you where you can buy it from etc.

What do you mean the doors won't open correctly? What's the exact issue with them?

We'll my rear door behind driver is intermittent sometimes opens sometimes doesn't. My passenger front door doesn't open at all unless it's unlocked from the inside first then it will open until it's relocked. As I drive along I can hear the passenger door trying to automatically lock it's self.

Both doors work once they have been opened from the inside. Until the next lock it's really weirdd

Door catches and they are a piece of piss to replace on the back doors.

I am surprised they gave me the codes. How simple are they to change? And get hold of for cheap?

Remove the fabric trim on the door card. Unbolt and unplug the latch and pull it out.

There's a bit more to it than that no those are the essentials.

You're better off buying new parts as they are modified to prevent the same problem occurring.

I asked sere I don't have access to tps since I'm public. I looked at car parts and euro car parts but not on there. I'll keep looking May be worth going scrap yard.

I'm sure you can phone up and pre pay before the delivery of your items over the phone.

They also replied to an email I sent them too, so they should be able to sort u out
