I have just been witness to a ebay purchase of a PD160 air intake and adaptor for £72.
What is the world coming to when that is the price we pay for goods.
Partsworld are currently selling them brand new for 85, and if you look hard theres a code for 10% off.

I'm having a rant because SEAT want to charge a rediculous price for a part that used to cost half that, until they found out what Fabia and other Ibiza owners were doing.

Have a heart SEAT, just put them on all models next time.

Not alot, unless paired with a remap and Green or K&N panel filter.

Diesel is not the same as petrol when it comes to air to fuel ratios.

The best way to look at it logically is there has to be a gain due to more air entering the engine, but it will be slight if noticable at all, until you get a remap, then there is space for a larger gain.

Plan ahead like this and before you know it you'll be looking at GT1749 hybrids and Forge FMIC's

The price of this part now outweighs the gains if you ask me, Greedy SEAT

Over 80 quid for a piece of plastic pipe which much cost less than £2(if that) to make is a great lot of money for a very slight improvement, if at all. I can't be bothered unless I can get one for £15 :)

I've found this a lot with ebay, I got my springs for about £30 cheaper than ebay were selling them, it can be a bit of a gamble and a lot of folk just assume it's a good price because it's ebay.:)

Good luck, even breakers are wise to this now. If anyone knows of a cheaper way to replace this part without forking out more than £40 let me know.

You're right, ebay's prices aren't always good e.g. Genuine Seat oil filter's for my Ibiza FR are over £7 on there...I mean why not go down your friendly Seat dealers and get one for £5-6! Ebay's bonkers sometimes, mind you I got my W8 light for 99p so I can't complain eh :)

If you change the intake to a PD160 - do you need to modify the airbox to make it fit?

If the PD160 intake enters the airbox through the same (small) whole you will still have quite a restriction to the airflow I reckon??

Get me one! And then you can wire it in too!

Fitting my W8 light nearly caused a divorce in our house! :D making the wiring loom was the easy bit. Fitting the bloomin thing just so, bang next to the interior alarm sensor unit was a right performance.:D
