Hello guys,
Recently I have bought Seat Ibiza Cupra 1.4 TSI 180 KM, 6J 2010. I was not aware of the problems and costs of the reparation of the engine. After four days the "Check engine" & "EPC" icon popped up and the car lost almost whole power.
I have driven it home and then to the local mechanician who has diagnosed it. Misfire on 1st cylinder. Some more tests showed, that there is no compression in the cylinder.
I've asked him to check the engine and he will do it whenever he finds some time for that.
After browsing through the internet I realised, that the 1.4 TSI engine in that car is really causing a lot of problems for the users. Therefore I am wondering if there is some possibility to fix it so that it won't need to be replaced after next 20k miles..
I was thinking about asking the guy to put some forged pistons or whatever is needed in the car so that it will last for a longer time. I am using this car for daily commute and all I wanted was to have a rather pretty car which won't cause problems. I am not using it to drive in a sport style or basically over using the power.
Is there any way to enhance the engine so that it will really last for a longer time or it is just best to get rid of the car and find some other instead?
Regards,
Bart
