Hi
I'm looking at a 1.5TSI FR Ibiza (150bhp) and have read horror stories about this engine in other VAG cars.
Has anyone who has had/ got the 1.5 in an ibiza had any problems?
Reports i've read are of stalling, kangarooing, power loss, etc which is putting me off the 1.5
I have a 1.5tsi in Ibiza, 20000km on the clock. I had one moment when the engine lost power (engune had ~12000km st that point) and turned on the epc and engine light. I immedietly stopped and turned the car off. Started it again, no problem, no lights. Drove the car to service, they said i needed the new software for the ECU so i guess they reflashed it. Since then it's working great, had only that one problem.
It's great engine fir Ibiza if you want a warm hatch
Thanks - i'd read VW had tried 2 software updates with no luck, a 3rd update is supposed to be out now but haven't read about the results from that.
Apparently the T=Roc owners are rejecting their cars due to no permanent fix and the new A1 owners are also reporting the same issues which i would have thought dealers would be updating the software before handing the cars over to the new owners - maybe the 3rd update doesn't cure the problems either?
I have mine since February with 5000km and no problem , already make a test on a dyno 170 hp and 285nm not bad , the only complain it stall same times . other than that no problem
1.5 TSI EVO here (2018), 31 000km, first oil change 3000km, second oil change 16000km, 3rd oil change 30000km, no problems at all. This engine is without particulate filter. I heard that engines with that filter had problems like kangaroo efect.
