Hi guys, i recently bought a mk4 Seat Ibiza 1.4 16v and have recently been thinking about putting a 1.8t engine in it. The only engine swap guides i have found so far are for a MK2 Ibiza. Just wondering if anyone could tell me if I need to buy specific engine codes and how easy of a job it is to do an engine conversion on the mk4. Cheers Max.

If money is tight how do you expect to afford insurance or fuel bills on it??

You'll need an FR or Cupra for the conversion anyway, so you're going to end up buying one whether you like it or not.
Trying to do the conversion is a colossal waste of time and money.

Yep, cupra's and FR's are that cheap now, like sub £2k gets a decent one and I've seen FR's change hands around half that...plus bear in mind you'll pay more on insurance for an engine swap, 1.8t's can proper chew through petrol as well, plus the they're around £25 a month on tax iirc.
