Hey all,

I've got some confussion I would like to get the best plugs and coils for a stock 1.8T AUQ, not sure if R8 ones are worth it, plus they need an adapter.

I heard about the BOSCH F6DTC plugs but my mechanic says they are not meant for my car. WTF is he right or should I search for another workshop?

Coils: BOSCH 0 221 604 109 some guy in a Spanish forum reviewed them and are perfect with no misfires at all. That thread is old, currently you can find the Bosch 0 221 604 115 not sure if they are just a newer update of the same coils or if they are different overall.

Hello Mate,

When I had a problem with 1 of mine I bought these. Ive had no problems with them. Benchmark Performance Ignition Coil Packs Set x4 search that on ebay. Be careful when replacing them as i managed to snap a couple of clips but its not the end of the world.

The R8 ones aren'f worth the money, they don't work any better than the oem ones. You can't go wrong with bosch coils, https://www.autodoc.co.uk/bosch/1159576 although i've used https://www.autodoc.co.uk/beru/990948 for about 2 years with no issues. Unless you have a misfire then i wouldn't bother changing them, just get a spare one and keep it in the boot.

There are loads of plugs that fit the AUQ as standard. List here https://www.autodoc.co.uk/car-parts/spark-plug-10251/seat/leon/leon-1m1/14413-1-8-20v-t
None will offer a performance benefit, but as a rough guide, the more you pay the longer they will last.
