Had a seller refund my timing belt kit claiming it won't fit my pd160. But it's listed to fit the 160 but comes up saying it's fits the 130 and not the 160 for them on a regular check. So they won't send the part out. its the same engine right!??? So annoyed with this.

Just agree not to return it if you're sure. Then they'll either send it or they won't. I often find the part number I want is available more cheaply for other VAG cars, or then cheaper still by searching on the manufacturer part code once I've got it from the VAG number. So vag radiator fan, 6q0 959 455 is meyle code 1002360019. Got EGR and catalytic converter marked as fitting a polo and Cordoba rather than Ibiza with an azq engine.

It is dead here. I often have more luck using VW, Skoda and Audi forums based on the engine code or knowledge of the models, eg polo 9n.

The timing belt and tensioners are common to a lot of the VAG engines. The Cupra 160hp Tdi with BPX engine has a different water pump to the 130hp FR Tdi. I found this on the Gates online catalogue with a little Googling .. this is application list below for the Cupra tdi and if you look at the 3 timing belt options (belt only, Belt+tensioner, Belt+tensioner+water pump) you can see the differences. So supplier might be right if it is a full water pump included kit and I would always fit a water pump.
