Have had the TCS light on the dash for a couple of days and finally got round to plugging VAG com in.

The fault i get is.

18255 Please check DTC memory of ABS controller
P1847-000 Intermitent.

I am guesing this is the reason for the TCS light to be on.

Does anyone have any ideas?

My guess is that it is your cable that is limiting your ability to communicate with the ABS controller.

As you have an '02 IBiza, 311.2 supported that car to best of my knowledge. Try to get someone else with a real cable to scan the car and see what happens.

Other possibility is that the controller is faulty.

Take a look at your ABS light when you turn on the ignition, does it light up, then shuts off and get lit again or does it light up and stay that way? The last would be a sign for a dead ABS control module, not uncommon but that would explain why VAG-COM can't communicate. It might also be worth telling us the exact error message VAG-COM gives you and as Bruce already described using a current version and a genuine interface might help to narrow it down too.
