2.0 16v cutting out

I was driving along at at about 60mph+ and came of the accelerator and the car stalled, and the oil light flashed. ive checked the oil level which is at the max mark. and the car restarted and drove fine. i havent had any problems with the car at lower speeds. and it has stalled a few times now always at speed as you may have guessed im not very mechanicly minded so any help would be apprechiated!

On my old car it was the distributor starting to go on the blink, when it cuts out and wont restart then its near enough gone. Cleaning the ends of the leads and the distributor and cap may help if its only dirt though

been to a garage today and they found a vaccum hose was missing so fingers crossed the car will be ok. what does a vaccum hose do??
