Hi guys,

anyone know what type of oil goes into the 2006 Seat Leon FR TDI ?

also, are there any preferences over Castrol / Petronas / Triple QX / Shell / Mobil?

I've read that they're pretty much all fine because they have to comply with strict standards, so is it best to go with the cheapest option of those listed?

Now then penny wise ... I just had mine done ( 57 fr TDI ) and purchased the oil from seat ... Drove the car there and the engineers have me some quantum oil as they recommend it .... Cant remember what spec but what I do know is I won't be getting it from them anymore as I can get if from elsewhere £15 cheaper !!!! Doesn't hurt to ring and ask ... But once you have the details go elsewhere to save money .. That's just my thought though buddy

Yea, the problem with most businesses is that they'll want to "recommend" the oil that makes them the most profit - not always the case but...

I've always serviced my cars myself (had mk1 Leon before the mk2) and never had any issues. I've just bought the mk2 Leon FR so was unsure of the type of oil, although I think it's 5w30 spec.

I mostly buy oil from eurocarparts since they're cheapest I find - and true, I can just call them and they'll also be able to tell the which spec oil it is
