The other option would be black... going with the darkside theme...

You could get darkside decals for the calipers...

Must admit that had crossed my mind... can’t decide if might be a bit much. Once I get the calipers I’ll get some decals and see what it all looks like.

Finally got round to fitting the rear anti roll bar. Not as bad as I thought.

This stuff is a god send. Great for reliving rusty bolt issues. They came off a treat.

So, two brackets each side, four bolts, you need a triple square m10 socket for the D brackets and a m6 triple square for the anti roll bar links.

Then loosen all the bolts

The new ARB is much heavier duty than the old one, you can really feel the difference.

Refitting is the reverse of removal.

I was hoping to get the ALK fitted today and I may still get out there but it’s quite chilly...

Also this car is so bad in the snow it’s not even funny.

Got out there and made an effort... struggled to get the old bushing off so I gave up. Started later than i would have liked and I think having now had a chance to look at it the easiest way will be to remove the whole swinging arm then I can use a puller to get the bushing off. But if I’m going to do all that I may as well do the front ARB at the same time... so I may have another look tomorrow morning.

Get yourself a gazebo so you can at least protect yourself from the snow / sleet / rain whilst working on the car outside.

Got one, its not too bad out there now but just a bit time limited. I'll get stuck in first thing tomorrow and should be able to get it all done.

I regretted doing the rear brakes outside last week as the wind literally blew through me. Never again LOL. Luckily we have too much smog for it to snow here!

Okay so I got so far... then it went wrong...

Nearside swing arm came off really easy no issues with any of the bolts...

Then the offside was okay until I came to remove the smaller bolts holding the rear of the swing arm in place. They initially come loose fine but after a short bit of winding they tightened up again and one of them snapped, hardly applied any pressure to it but it’s a bit frustrating.

I’m not sure the cars safe to drive at the moment so waiting to see when I can get I booked in. Balls.

Oh :censored:.I feel your pain. If it's just the one bolt that's snapped and you can tighten the other back up (and of course all the bigger ones). It'll be safe just to drive a couple of miles to the garage.

Yeah that’s what I’ve done. The other bolt felt a bit spongy so guessing they are both shot for some reason. Shouldn’t be too expensive to sort.

Just take it steady. I've never driven a car to the garage round the corner with 1/3 bolts completely missing and the control arm out of alignment. But I'd imagine that if I had, the steering would have been really twitchy and random.

So if at least the one bolts in you'll be fine.

Just trying to decide now if I just get them to sort the bolt or fit the ARB and ALK at the same time.

Get them to do both while its in.

Seems a reasonable idea. I'm going to chuck it all in the car when I run it through. Might also take the tools id need and see if I can help / do some of the stuff while they sort out the snapped bolt.
